Leonardo was a lovely, friendly young man and fitted in so easily and comfortably from day one. Always polite and well mannered. He was really good with my daughter and she took to himinstantly. My experience with Beata and her family was simply extraordinary.
This was my first Workaway experience, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations. From the very beginning, Beata and her family welcomed me warmly, making me feel like an integral part of their household. I was never lacking for anything and was fully involved in
… read more their daily life. We even spent Christmas together, a moment I will always cherish.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to help Michael and Marcus renovate their beautiful new house in Belfast. It was an incredible experience where I learned so many useful skills that I’m excited to put into practice in the future. In Coleraine, I helped Beata with her cleaning business, which turned out to be surprisingly fun! At home, the tasks were always simple and enjoyable, like washing dishes and helping with general house cleaning.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this experience was living closely with a Polish family. I discovered so many of their traditions, especially culinary ones. Beata is an exceptional cook, and thanks to her, I got to try a variety of traditional Polish dishes that completely won me over.
Another special memory was the time I spent with Klara. I miss her so much! Klara is an incredibly intelligent and curious child with whom you can talk about anything. Time with her flew by: we colored, sang Christmas songs, and played with Lego... Thanks to her, I felt like a kid again for a few hours, and it was a wonderful experience.
Every member of this family treated me with kindness and respect. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to:
Beata, for welcoming me into her beautiful home, introducing me to Polish cuisine, and helping me improve my English.
Klara, for her sweetness, for making me feel like a child again, and for teaching me new words in English.

Beata is a beautiful soul with a very lovely family. I stay only a week but I felt very welcome. Klara is a clever funny girl, really good and lovely. I mostly help Beata with housework and cooking.

I spent a fantastic week with Beata, Klara and their family.
They welcomed me from the first day as a member of their large family and made me feel at home, including me in all their daily activities.
The work I did was fun, because Klara is a very intelligent and nice little girl.

… read more Polish dishes,we visited the wonders of Northern Ireland and we shared different points of view and cultures.
I was pleasantly surprised by their lifestyle and their calm, totally different from the way people live in big Italian cities. Furthermore, with them I was able to take a journey into the past, to a time when no one used a cell phone and the addiction to technological devices had not yet arisen. In fact, Beata and her family almost do not use telephones, PCs and cell phones and this allows them to spend much more quality time together.
From this trip I learned to look at things from another point of view, I learned to trust people more and be amazed by their generosity and hospitality and I understood that a week is not enough to fully enjoy such a stimulating experience.
Leaving my Polish-Irish family was sad, but today I know that I have friends living on the other side of Europe and that one day, surely, we will meet again.

Filippo was reliable, proactive and brilliant in providing a general help around the house. Heoften offered support with household chores such as light cleaning .
I was very impressed by his enthusiasm to go on the bike rides and orienteering in our local area.
His english is great so we have had no problems with communication.

… read more time with little Klara, she is an exceptional young lady, very intelligent and cheerful, always ready to do a million activities. We went several times to the swimming pool together and I taught her a little bit of swimming, that was one of the many wonderful memories I had there.
In the free time, the family is always ready to show you around, chat, laugh, cook, build a trampoline, watch Gucci escape from his park or eat the best chocolate cake of all time with you. They made me feel like part of the family.

I had lots of free time to explore the area, which is absolutely breathtaking.
They always had great suggestions about what to visit and where to go hiking.
I really enjoyed the food and the interesting conversations over dinner. They also took me to taste the real Guinness, and to a bonfire in the forest !
