As soon as we arrived at our work away, Peter and Keith welcomed us into their home for a chat so that we could get to know each other. We soon found ourselves enjoying each other’s company and after Keith showed us our accommodation which to be honest we loved. Peter prepared a delicious meal which we enjoyed together.

We loved our time there so much that we are Looking forward to going back very soon.

Katie and Parker were with us for only 3 days, but in that short time they did a ton of work. They were great fun to be with and we laughed and joked a lot over our lunches. Both were very willing and had no problem with adapting their working hours when the weather prevented them from working outside.

Fernando is friendly and very willing. He prefers doing jobs rather than just sitting around, so it was hard to get him to stop at times! He enjoys his own company and managed to keep himself occupied on the days when the rain prevented much work from being done outside. Marcin’s dream was to try this life while traveling in our van… Peter&Keith - Our first Workaway experience. We stayed there for 3 weeks in December/January 2022/2023 and we couldn’t have wished for a better start. Such a lovely, welcoming and opening People. … read more were welcomed with open arms and the time spent with Keith and Peter was full of conversations (with good food) that Peter always prepared for us! In the evening we lit the fireplace and had long conversations about life etc. K&P are very nice, friendly people, always cheerful and smiling! and our 3 weeks, they ended very quickly. We had different tasks to do, usually every day there was something new that needed to be fixed, painted or installed ;-) The main task that took us the longest time consuming was the brick pathways with cement and we hope that now K&P friends will be able to enjoy it fully this part of the garden. Iza dealt with more work related to the garden, plant care, etc. Most of the help that K&P needed was typical housework, care, minor repairs, painting, etc;-). Finally, we made a "blue bike" for K&P, which was supposed to go to the dump, and now we hope that it will become part of this place.
We can wholeheartedly say that the time we had with you was very precious to us and you will stay in our hearts for a long time. You have a beautiful place, you are wonderful people and we hope to see you again...
This time we will continue to discover the flavors of Spain and Portugal in the sun and rain ;-)

By the way, since I'm vegan, Peter did an absolutely great job, in keeping the lunches vegan AND absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every second with the two of them, we had great conversations and it were four weeks of fun. We have just had a fantastic 4 weeks with Mel and Tobi helping us with the endless tasks around the house and garden. They took on board everything we asked them to do, and always worked willingly and with a huge amount of skill, care and enthusiasm. They have a very strong work ethic, and are not happy unless they see a job finished to their own
… read more satisfaction (and ours, of course!) It was such fun when we all worked together, and our shared meals were a real delight as they are such easy people to converse with. Now that they have left, we're going to miss having them around, and wish them well with their future travel plans and projects.

Simone and Lisa have given us an excellent start to our Workaway experience, and have set a very high standard indeed. They work well together as a team, and need no prompting - always up and ready to do the day's tasks, and reluctant to stop before lunch. … read more afterwards. Sometimes they made suggestions as to how to achieve the best result, and didn't hesitate to ask if they weren't sure what to do. We had lunch with them most days, it was a pleasure to provide lunch as they were very appreciative. Their English was fine, which made it nice and easy to communicate, and they were charming company. For us, it also feels like we've made 2 new friends - we wish them luck with their travels and their future workaway experiences, and look forward to seeing them again sometime.
