Perfect experience here. Marie and Tom are so warm-hearted and kind that I really don’t want to leave. I had a big issue with my skin when I arrived, and Marie helped me heal it. We also had delicious Irish food all the time—I really loved the soda bread! She also took us to explore the surrounding areas and experience the local culture.

It's been an amazing experience. This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't choose a better host than Marie, Tom and their all family (that I met during my long stay, a month and half). … read more cook. They are amazing people who welcomed me as part of the family. They are willing to take you everywhere according to their work schedules. We did beautiful walks, and with Marie we played bingo every week, even multiple times a week.
I loved every single minute I spend with this family, they are amazing, really beautiful people.

Marie and Tom are amazing hosts! Since the beginning I felt very welcomed and I could see that they really worry about me.
I stayed for 2 and a half months with them, in a house that is only for the volunteers, where there are three empty rooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room with everything you need, it is very cozy place and great if you need
… read more some privacy. Always when Marie went shopping she asked me if I wanted to join her or if I needed something ( she makes sure that the fridge will be always full), and I always could take anything I wanted to cook for myself.
The work was mainly help with the B&B, what it wasn't much even for one person, and I had plenty of free time to travel and walk around.
The house is in a amazing place with a beautiful nature, always when I went out for walking I thought how lucky I was to be there.
If I wanted to travel around, there is a bus stop 25min by walk from the house, but Marie always could drop me off and pick me up if I wanted.
Every Thursday I used meet up with Marie and her's friends to play bingo, what I really enjoyed ( I won twice and this made me very happy hahaha ). Marie also always used to invite me for some wine, dinner and nice chatting.
I'll never forget how generous they were with me and how they made me feel at home, they are people with a good heart.
I also need to thank Dany, Diane, Nana for always being so kind with me.

The whole area is surrounded by beautiful views and you get lots of free time to explore.

It does get very quiet at times so if you want to go abit further afield in Ireland during that time I recommend bringing a car.

I’ve spent 6 weeks at Marie’s house. The work is very easy (I must say tough that it was the end of the season). There are 3 apartments that helpers need to clean, then you must do the laundry. I cannot not speak about the surroundings of the house : it is so beautiful. I went on many walks on the cliffs, in the countryside with the bike, to the beach or to Clahane which is a nice place to take a bath in Liscannor. The towns around are also very very nice to visit and to go to the pub
To sum up, If you’re looking for a social and “going out” experiment maybe that wouldn’t suit you, but I enjoyed my stay a lot, very chill, and perfect if you like to be in nature ( however I wouldn’t have stayed more than 6 weeks, but it was autumn so probably chiller than spring or summer)

When the work was done, I often went for a walk with their lovely little dog Buddy. Also Marie took me with her to all the surrounding towns many times. I visited Galway and Bunratty Castle and went to dancing classes and the Bingo with Marie - I loved it!
On top of this, Marie is a great cook! So apart from enjoying the dainty dishes, you can learn a lot from her on that front.

We stayed 5 weeks at Marie and Tom's B&B, it was just perfect. Tom and Marie are very great person.
We lived in an appartement just next to their house with all accomodations we needed. Marie and Tom asked us all time if we needed something and if we wanted drink or eat something. They took care of us. Marie is a very good cook :)
The work was not
… read more hard, we helped Marie with the B&B (clean the room, change the sheets and sometimes we made breakfast (it's was low season)), we painted the terrace and we helped in the house. We worked 3/4 hours per day maximum.
During our days off, we went to Cliffs of Moher (40 min walk), to the port of Liscannor village, to Galway, we walked on the Coastal Road. Marie brought us in many town : Lahinch (large beach for surfer), Ennis, Miltown Malbay for example.

For this reason I didn’t have a fixed day off but I had enough time to go out and explore this wonderful part of Ireland which I had never seen before. I visited some places on my own but I also had the privilege of having Marie as a guide on some outings (I visited Bunratty Castle, Dromoland Castle and the Burren with her and I want to thank her very much for that once more). Marie and Tom were always very happy to give me advice on what to visit and where to go and I appreciated it very much.
