Oportunidades de intercâmbio cultural e aprendizado
Spending time on the mountains rural of Albania is a cultural experience in itself.
Be in nature, meet the locals (and the goats, donkeys, sheep and cows ; ) and let yourself be carried away by unexpected events.
Take some great mountain hikes or take a walk to the historic St. Nicholas Church.
On weekends, we enjoy visiting the flea markets in the city.
Develop your skills and share your knowledge of building, gardening and cooking.Ajuda
We like to form a team with inventive and easy-going people with a good sense of humour.
What a week looks like:
5 days work, 5 hours a day, 2 days off.
Your arrival day is not a working day.
Around 8:00 am we start the work, in the summer months preferably even earlier because it gets very hot quickly.
It is important that you can enjoy yourself being in nature (no casino's and disco's around ;-), since we are quite isolated.
It is great if you can cook, know your way in a garden and are inventive with reusing materials.
We prefer to host someone/a couple for a period of 2 / 3 weeks.
You can always contact us, for us it works best to plan a maximum of 2-3 weeks in advance.
We could use some help for small building projects, diy, growing veggies.
Prepare for the winter, canning food and chopping wood
It is great if you can cook with fresh and nutritious ingredients. We try to eat healthy and avoid ultra-processed foods.
Sharing recipes is also a valuable aspect of Workaway for us :-)Idiomas

Our house is half an hour drive away by car from Elbasan (last 10 minutes on an unpaved road)
If you go by bus, the service stops where the unpaved road begins. From there it's a 20 minutes walk.
We are planning to create a tiny house for volunteers.
For the moment we have a tent to stay for you or a simple bedroom in our house with a double bed.
The bathroom (toilet and shower) are shared with us.
We provide the communal breakfast and communal main meal in the afternoon.
On your free days you can cook your own food. You can use the ingredients we provide in the kitchen.Mais alguns detalhes

Besa
Besa aka "the sweetest cat" Besa means trust and that is exactly the word to describe Besa. Besa is a real talking cat, she can get everything she wants with her meowing. Besa hates crowds and stress and when it is too stressful on our land she sometimes goes away for a few days
Alpha
Alpha aka "the naughtiest cat" She loves to be hugged, but beware there will soon come a time when she gets nervous and attacks. She hardly meowed but she learned that in the meantime from Besa the black cat
Tito
Tito is cool! Everyone loves Tito! Tito loves food. And Tito loves freedom. We have had him since he was a puppy and we have tried to keep him on our property. But Tito won the battle and is now free to go where he wants. Often goes with the neighbor who is a shepherd and one of his dogs is Tito's age mate and best friend.

Deian was such a pleasure to host.
He seemed to really enjoy the whole Workaway experience with us and that is definitely mutual.
From listening to traditional Albanian music in the car while the neighbours hitched a ride with us to sharing
food and recipes and having a glass of raki by the fire in the evening. He loved going with us on the… read more
Mi partner Cristóbal and I stayed in a beautiful gampling tent well equipped and we had our own little piece of forest. Although we were really happy with the accommodation, Merel and Frank offered several times us to move to the… read more

I wholeheartedly believe that there's no one more Albanian than Frank. I had the incredible opportunity to stay with him for three weeks, and I'm already planning my return.
Before arriving in Albania, I was captivated by its rich culture, politics, and history. Living with… read more
He stayed with us for 3 weeks. The first week was a bit chaotic because it was Merel's last week before she went to the Netherlands for work.
It was a relief for her that she didn't… read more
William stayed only one week with us.
He can handle heavy work, such as carrying stones up from the river and pushing a heavy wheelbarrow full of sand.
He helped with various small jobs.
Sometimes I had not prepared and planned the tasks well and it was not entirely… read more

Their place is deep in the nature so if u like comfort and nature at the same time I would suggest this volunteer experience. They are new to hosting but for someone new they did pretty well.. I would say. The dogs are cute so are the cats which… read more
