Descrição
We are from the US and living in Belize for 5 years. Our off grid organic farm is located on the outskirts of Big Falls village in the Toledo district of Belize. We have a 7 year old daughter, and 2 boys aged 4 and 2. We are seeking help with the kids as well as the farm. We are open to families with children. Please contact us if you’d like to know more about our farm. We are seeking like minded individuals to join us and help us, potentially long term.
We love food and eat as clean as possible. We eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and are happy to accommodate vegetarians. Will is a musician and dj with a simple home recording studio. We are interested in plant medicine, yoga and massage. We care deeply for nature and are honored to be able to tend to this land.
Currently eating from our farm: coconuts, plantain, banana, cassava, chaya, sweet potato, papaya, pineapple, greens, herbs, cacao, turmeric, limes, cashews, soursop. Many of our fruit trees are young, so what’s not bearing yet we buy from other organic farmers in the area.
We are 420 Friendly. Please no chemical tobacco smokers or heavy drinkers.
We have a German Shepherd named Kasha. She barks a lot at everyone which can be annoying, but she’s very sweet. We also have a flock of chickens for eggs and meat.
Punta Gorda Town is a 30 minute drive or
45 minute bus ride away. There is a lot to explore in Toledo district and we encourage some days off. Occasionally we are up for excursions with our guests in the area if you want to pitch in for gas!
We have high speed internet in our common areas and we usually shut it off between 9pm-7am.

Our area is truly a gem! It is so diverse. Each cultural group here has something interesting to learn from (Mayans, Kriol, Garifuna, East Indian, Mennonite, Chinese). In our back yard there are Mayan ruins, chocolate farms, river tubing and zip lining. A half hour away you reach the coast at Punta Gorda where you can set out to sea for snorkeling, island hopping and fishing.

Daily tasks for volunteers can include meal prep and clean up, helping with the kids (reading books, art project, walks around the garden, outdoor games). Outdoor projects can include planting, harvesting, yard clean up, processing and cleaning up harvested farm items, various building projects.

Acomodação
We have an open air dorm space with mattresses and mosquito nets which we provide. We also have a rental cabin and if it’s not in use we let volunteers use it.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided. We eat many plant based meals, but we also eat dairy and meat from small local farms in our area, and sometimes fresh fish from the sea.
