Description
I reactivate my profile after about two years and it is all new :)
My name is Petra. With my husband Honza we live in a small village Nahoruby
situated in a beautiful hilly countryside
close to the river VItava, some 60 km
south from Prague. We are 43 years old, we got together quite recently. We live in an old
house (part of a family farm, my parents
live in a house next to us). We have a big
garden with a lot of vegetables and fruits.
It is a permaculture style garden, I am very
fond of it and always try to make it
more fertile and productive. I grow my
own seeds and I select resistent
varieties. I have some knowledge and
recettes of conserving what the garden
gives. We eat vegetarian.
Honza likes to play airsoft, he has some weapons for training and a bow. He also likes to look for 'treasures' with a metal detector. There used to be a SS training camp in the area so old munition can be found. Me, apart of gardening I am fond of foreign languages and travelling (more in the past, nowadays I only go to a sea and I love it). I like to read. We both like hiking, making fire, music, fun, good food, good time with friends. We have two little dogs. We spend quite a lot of time working on maintenance of the land belonging to my family - cleaning forests, making firewood, cutting grass, planting trees.. We plan to transform a field of some 3 hectars into a flower meadow with solitary trees in the future. We are trying to keep a piece of nature healthy and good for life.
Together we reconstructed an old military campervan/trailer that we have in a valley on a meadow by a stream among forests some 2 km far from the village. We are very lucky to have that piece of land and we spend quite a lot of time there as we feel free there in the middle of nature without people. And we like to share it with people:) who are friendly, open-minded, respectful... together we celebrate life, eat, drink, discuss, laugh, play, pray, dance...
We are now looking for a workawayer who would help us to build a shed on this place where guests could stay - workawayers and friends. We need someone with practical skills who would enjoy building this ouside home. There is a wooden construction on a meadow opposite to our campervan that can be used for this purpose. I would imagine a shed where it would be possible to stay warm and dry and basic cook. Meanwhile we can provide tents to put up, there is a table, we will bring chairs (or you can make them of a tree), we would bring pots and dishes and what is needed.
We also look for help with maintenance and regeneration of our forest just above the camping place (4 hectars) - removing wild blackberry plants, bringing wood, branches on heaps and a lot of cutting with a scyth of nettels around the forest. We want to prepare the forest for planting new trees in the autumn.
There's plenty of dry pine trees in our forest, so we have a lot of wood for making fires.
Food we make is rather simple, but tasty, lot of fresh or conserved vegetables and fruits - depending on a season. Good if you could sometimes cook yourself as we would not be all the time around.

Possibility to learn something from permaculture gardening, seeds growing, conserving/storing fruits and vegetables, making fruit wine, shooting, to exchange travel/cultural/life experiences, to practise languages. There is a Trappist monastery nearby. Sometimes in summer we visit music festivals so you could join us. Possibly friends come for visit.

Camping like accomodation - tent on a meadow, roofed outside space that can be enlarged - to protect from rain. Cooking on fire or gas. Hygiene - water in the stream is quite clean, camping shower, spring of drinking water nearby and we would also bring tap water.
Consider weather conditions and your conditions.
Possible occasional shower, washing machine, wi-fi use at our home.Autres infos...
Possible to go swimming in the river Vltava - lake Slapy. Transport to/from Prague by public transp.1,5h. There are some nice view points over rivers nearby. In Nahoruby live my friends, they have 2 sons, they are great people, possibly we could meet together, possibly I could ask you to help in their garden some day.
We invite workawayers who are respectful to nature, don't leave rubbish behind them, who are reliable and not afraid of work.Informations complémentaires
