Olie was a great workawayer who helped out with a wide range of projects.
He did some earthworks for us, helped out in the greenhouse and helped bring back to life an old slapaphone (musical instrument made from plumbing pipes). Plus his cooking is masterchef quality!
Olie has had a really interesting life and has many stories and insights to

He is a very neat and tidy person in the house, does more than his share in the kithchen and loves all the pets and creatures on the farm.
So I dont hesitate to recommend him.
Thanks Olie for all you brought to us during your stay!

I had an absolutely wonderful time volunteering for John at his stunning, family-run property. From the hands-on work with the bobcat to create a pad for an outdoor spa, to removing trees, tending to animals, and planting in the greenhouse, every task was a rewarding experience. John is an exceptionally open-minded and non-judgmental person, with a real passion for trying new things and giving everything a go. I was amazed by the variety of experiences he shared with me—from morning swims to attending the annual circus cabaret in Karridale, to celebrating a friend’s birthday by the Blackwood River, enjoying live music gigs, and even joining him for photo excursions. It was a week packed with activity, and I never once felt bored!
What truly made my time in Margaret River special was the chance to spend time with John and his wonderful family and friends. Their warmth and openness made me feel like I was part of something truly special. I sincerely hope to cross paths with them again in the future. This Workawayer has chosen to keep their profile private.

Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Pia)
Pia was a wonderful workawayer on our farm from May 2023 staying for several months over two visits. We formed quite a good connection with her and family - we thoroughly enjoyed also hosting Pia's father and sister (who came to visit Pia) and now consider them part of our family too.
Pia has a natural affinity with plants and all living

The health and quality of the greenhouse crops definitely improved a lot while Pia worked with us and she completed some really useful projects - like making swirl filter stands.
As a house guest Pia was extremely tidy and helped with meals and also helped whenever we hosted other visitors.
She was very sociable and interested in experiencing anything where we engaged with the local community.
Pia is a good communicator, very intelligent and truly a delight to host. We would love to have her back any time.

I had a wonderful time at the aquaponic farm. Originally, I had planned to stay for only 1 or 2 weeks and ended up staying for almost 2 months. John and his family are amazing people and made me feel like home. The farm itself is a beautiful patch of paradise with breathtaking views and some lovely animals, too.
Even though I basically grew up

Despite helping in the greenhouse and selling greens at the market, John also encouraged me to learn things that I normally would never do at home. E.g. even though I had zero experience in carpentry, I eventually build 4 wooden frames for mineralisation tanks.
I also liked the fact that the farm is treated a little bit like a social project and every workawayer can contribute and learn something different according to her/his skills and interests – be it gardening, plumbing, carpentry/DIY, art work, animal care or work around the house.
I really enjoyed my entire time at the farm and also the Margaret River area around is absolutely amazing with its fairy forests and various beautiful beaches.
I can’t thank John & his family enough for this experience and hope to be back very soon after some travelling!
William was a wonderful workawayer who stayed at my place in August 2024. He was very enthusastic about helping me out doing pretty much any sort of work. That included some planting and raising seedlings in the greenhouse, fixing equipment there and re-organising the workspace. He also helped a lot around my living space, cleaning out my large

I can totally recommend William as a workawayer.
Thank you William for all your contributed. Definitely we will see you again and you will always be welcome here.Comentário

John, see ya tomorrow!

What a wonderful workawayer Jochen was. He was here for a month in November 2022 and he is a very tidy, hard working and highly motivated person. His contribution to this farm was incredible. What a pleasure it was to host Fabio and Nadeine for a month in winter 2022. Creative, fun and super helpful. Nadeines catch phrase was "anything I can do yo help?".

John and Natalie are beautiful and kind souls, always ready to help and show us the beautiful Margaret River region.

Live with them for a month has been a big pleasure and an experience will bring forever.

We’ve known John and Natalie for two months and it has been a gift for us to meet them. They’re such amazing human beings!

We also had very interesting conversations and exchange of ideas.
On top of that we shared many meals and also John is awesome guide, he brought us to discover Margaret River and surroundings.
It’s actually very hard to leave that place because you feel like you are home.

Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Fenna & Sybren)
Fenna and Sybren are a wonderful, lovely couple. We enjoyed hosting them so much and they were extremely helpful. These two are absolutely trustworthy and we thoroughly recommend them.

Sybren is an amazing problem solver with so many surprising skills. If you give him an old motor thats been to the bottom of the sea for a month, he can still fix it and get it started again. Plus he is very clever at electronics and computer networks. Fenna is loaded with common sense and positive attitude and could learn to do anything.
They are very clean and tidy and extremely considerate, both with big hearts. Fenna and Sybren, we were sorry to see you leave but will remember you very fondly. From Natalie and I, a very big thank you for helping us above and beyond whatever we could have expected and for being great company.

We stayed at Natalie and John's for about 4 weeks, we loved it!
Apparently, we were their first workaway guest but if there was a skill level for workaway hosts, they would have level 100!

Fenna also has learned some technical skills during this Workaway. John has a lot of big jobs, but also smaller jobs in which you will learn the basics as sawing, screwing, measuring, general constructing, maintaining, mowing... John is helpful and patient which made every job just fun to do! On the other side, she had a blast caring for the animals and more in particular caring for the puppy Carmen (who will steal your hearth by the way!).
The accommodation they provide is perfect and is personalized. Generally, there is a spare bedroom (with a very comfy bed) or self-sufficient workers accommodation available.
John and Natalie are a loverly caring couple who will make you feel welcome directly. They took us on some trips and showed us the best places to explore around Margaret River. Margaret River is a lovely place with a lot of diverse scenery and is good for exploration.
Since they both have a background as veterinarians you can learn a lot about animals. The farm itself has a breathtaking view with kangaroo's in the morning and the sunrises are more than worth getting up early for.
If you are neighborhood please consider staying with these grateful family and give them a hand around the farm.
John and Natalie, we thank you for having us and hope to meet you again when we pass Margaret river again!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
