My name is Christina and I am running the dogcare project in Bentota.
We are hosting around 370 dogs in three shelters. I am German and I live with my daughter Lana (born 2018) and my husband Keshan in Induruwa close to one of our shelters. In our home there are around 14 dogs and also the emergency cases who come in like accident or very sick dogs. Our days are quite busy so we are looking for volonteers who are selfconfident and supportive. The work is sometimes emotionally tasking so this placement is not good for much sensitive or emotionally unstable people.

The help includes:
- Clean house and terrace
- Walk my dogs and assist feeding
- Help with outside feeding round by scooter and if possible do it alone after you got used to it
- play with my daughter
- visit shelter, cuddle dogs
I don't have strict helping hours but the main tasks can be done in the morning. Nevertheless my daughter Lana is always happy if volonteers arrive and loves to play and spend time with them.
I don't have many strict to-dos but I am looking for volonteers who like to help and not only up for a free of charge accommodation. I need people who are able to clean up behind themselves as they are sharing the house with us and who are able to respect our privacy.
The volonteer of course can eat with us if I am cooking but should be able to take care of himself.

You have your own room with a 140cm bed and bathroom with shower and local toilet (floor toilet). You have a separate entrance to your room.

The beach is close by and also Hikkaduwa and Galle van be visited within a day trip. We have some turtle sanctuaries around also.

Each one of us had their own room. We took care for the 12-15 dogs that live at the private property.
