Llagostera is a beautiful small village that I loved to get to know, and it is well connected to a lovely beach as well as to Girona, so I was very entertained throughout my free time and it was easy to travel and explore lots of new places which Ana and Eduard helped me to plan when needed! Biel is such an intelligent and creative boy, and I have no doubts he will go on to do amazing things. He is really open to anything and often appreciates when somebody else takes the lead for games, activities, etc. He definitely has a special place in my heart and made my summer so much fun. Ana and Eduard are so lucky to have such a sweet boy and Biel is so lucky to have such fun parents like them.

During this month she has arranged a perfect combination between sharing the familiar time, routines, moments and her own time by herself. She has always a good disposition and has helped with the usual chores around the house.
Karina is a very responsible person, always attentive and calm. We really trusted on her and the coordination between us in everything has been very easier and well done.
She loves reading and learning new things. She is a lovely person: very good inside, always ready to help and give the best of herself.
She has cooked once or twice per week and we had loved the meals she did!

… read more and it was always a fun time with him. We went on walks, did art projects, played board or card games, and went to do local things within the neighborhood. I learned so much and enjoyed getting to know him and the things he liked to do.
I also had a lot of down time- so much time to explore and do your own thing. The town itself is very accessible to other beach towns and cities to visit by bus or train.
Ana and Eduard went out of their way, multiple times to help me out with stuff or to take me on day trips to see something fun or culturally unique. Even before arriving, she showed great interest in knowing what our expectations and were really open to adjust to our family life and needs. She has shared many hours of play with our son and has shown a lot of initiative thinking and preparing activities to do together. Biel will miss her very much. Isabella, 18 years old, is a very autonomous and independent girl. It has been a pleasure to share meals, customs and experiences with her. She has always had a lot of initiative to help with any housework and a couple of days a week she has gifted us fabulous culinary recipes. Thanks to Isabella we have been able to discover the richness of flavors that vegetarian food hides. We will keep and cook some of her recipes for a long time! … read more intelligent kid and always had such creative ideas. The family always included me on walks, trips throughout Girona and they shared so much information about Spain. I was lucky enough to experience many holidays and how they are celebrated which was incredible. On the weekends they always gave me recommendations for where to go and places they thought I would enjoy. They also cook amazing meals and they were very accommodating to the fact that I am vegetarian. Llagostera is a beautiful town and the location makes it very easy to take the bus anywhere you want to go. This was my first Workaway so I was a little bit nervous but the second I met them I knew that I was going to have the most amazing time. We have shared one month with Lara that literally has flown by quick. It has been a very good experience hosting her. Lara is very young, but it’s amazing how responsible, independent and how many skills she has.

… read more old), playing, doing handcrafts, riding a bike, etc. We explained her in advance that he loves making handcrafts and she brough books about it and many ideas. Our son enjoyed very much the time with her. Her level of English is high and has been perfect to help our son to improve it.
She is discreet, nice and very responsible. She loves sports and spent lots of time running, biking and exploring our area by her own. She adapted perfectly to our family and daily routine (and we know that it’s no easy for a German person follow the Spanish meal times ;-). During this month she has been one more in our family. We will remember the conversations, series, board games sessions and meals we shared together! We will miss you!
We have had the pleasure to enjoy twice a week the meals she cooked for us. She opens de fridge and in an hour is able to prepare a delicious and healthy meal with the ingredients she finds. Amazing! Of course, we will keep and try some of the recipes she shared with us!

Usually I spent the mornings with Biel, while Ana and Eduard were working. Biel is such a cheerful and smart boy and always full of energy! He learns very quickly and I had so much fun with him doing handicrafts, playing Lego robotics, singing, riding the bike and much more.
In the afternoons and on the weekends, I had a lot of free time and thus many opportunities to explore the beautiful area around. Llagostera is located very central and I was able to undertake many trips to the surrounding towns and to the coast. Ana and Eduard let me borrow their bike and were very flexible with the schedule. They gave me a lot of tips and enabled me to experience so many things in such a short time.

Biel has enjoyed playing with her a lot, and Saili has worked hard helping him to improve his English comprehension, and we have really noticed a breakthrough. Biel got fond of her a lot and he misses her.
Saili is also passionate about cooking and several days a week we have enjoyed tasting New Mexico meals (she is an excellent cook). Saili has had a lot of initiative collaborating with the housework and we have shared with her very good moments.
We are left with the memory of a great experience. The cultural exchange has been real, and very enriching for all our family.

… read more Eduard were very flexible with a schedule for the week but mostly I would pick Biel up from school and play games with Biel for a few hours after lunch and the same again before dinner. Biel is the sweetest kid and so easy to play with so it never felt like "work". He's very open to learning new words in English and I think he's a very fast learner. I usually had the weekends to myself (if I wasn't doing something with the family) where I would explore the area - Llagostera is a great place to do this and there are buses going to all the places you would want to go. The Costa Brava is amazing and I spent a lot of time there. Ana and Eduard were so helpful and let me borrow a backpack, a tent and dropped me at the train station when needed. I also took Spanish lessons in Girona which is a cool city to explore as well. The next workawayer who comes here will be very lucky.
