I had a very good time at Cor and Marco's boat. They are two truly kind and welcoming people, always ready to make my stay as good as possible.
Marco is an artist and I had the pleasure to see him in action both with the puppet show for children and his new shadow theatre show. He took care of every meal and each of them was delicious. Cor is an
… read more interesting person and I shared nice chats and laughs with him. He was really kind making me see hidden gems around Rotterdam.
The main tasks on the boat varied from painting, to taking care of the ventilation system or doing some gardening. It's possible to learn a lot from Leslie, a man coming a couple of days a week for helping with difficult tasks and I feel I improved my skills during my stay.
Working hours were always respected and both Cor and Marco cared about me for resting enough and enjoying my free time in the city.

Luca dedicated helped us to paint and did overhaul the entire ventilation system of our ship. He also helped us making our garden ready for construction work and did a complicated measuring and calculating job there.
But above all, Luca was a nice colleague and housemate who was eager to learn and work and immediately conquered his place in our

I stayed with Cor and Marco for three weeks this February and had a wonderful experience! They made me feel very welcome and generously offered use of their bikes and museum card. Marco is also a wonderful chef and prepared fresh baked goods most days!
The work was quite varied so every day was different, some days I worked on ceiling insulation
… read more on the boat and others I helped to clear out the garden. I had no experience using power tools but their regular volunteer Lesley was a very patient teacher and great to work with! I also had plenty of free time to explore Rotterdam and was invited along to some local cultural events and had the opportunity to watch the weekly puppet show hosted on board.

We had the honour to be Caitlins first WorkAway-experience, which was great: Caitlin helped us with quite some 'place making' in our garden and was leading an insulation job on our ship from the beginning till the very end. Thanks again Caitlin, we hope you'll find great WorkAway-adventures and hope to hear form you every now and then!

Hospitality is the word I would use to describe my two hosts Cor and Marco, They made sure I was well taken care of and never had to ask for anything. I was given a loan of thier bikes, rail cards, museum cards and was offerred to join them on thier trips. This allowed me to get a real taste of what thier country is like, Also thier cooking aswell

Shane was extremely motivated in helping with the tough job of de-rusting and painting the masts of our ship. He also helped to build the construction scaffolding for this paint job, to build a stage for our open-air opera and, last but not least, he took beautiful photos of our performances; opera as well as puppet theatre. I stayed with Cor and Marco for two weeks and had a great time! The work was creative and we made clear progress. Staying on the boat in Europe's largest harbour was a cool experience. They were really helpful with navigating in the city and let me borrow their bike. I had a lot of fun! Also Marco is a great chef😁

Cor and Marco were excellent hosts, I will miss their smiles and their humor. I had a great month living on the boat with them, they were very generous and kind.
