  Because of the children, we are looking to host someone for a longer period of time (4-6months), starting March 2026.

  We are a family of five who live centrally in The Netherlands. We, Geert and Anke, built an energy neutral house in which we are now raising our sons of 4,5y and 2,5y, and daughter of 9 mo.
  
  We are an open minded, easy going family in our mid 30's. We both work full time, enjoy to participate in society, and generally we just really like to do stuff. Built and sold a company, made career, built our house and garden with our own hands from the ground up. Now we love spending time with the children so there is less time for the previous activities. This means we will be more around the house during the week. You are welcome to be a part of this if you are energetic too.
  
  The house is spacious with a spare room left with a double bed and a desk. We work in supply chain and biochemistry / life sciences and in our little free time we enjoy outdoor life and building things. We are happy to share our knowledge with anyone who seeks it.
  
  The past couple of years we have hosted various students of Utrecht University that combined their study while living with us. Work involves light household chores (groceries, cooking and cleaning up, occasional babysitting) while we provide a spacious room and of course your meals. The travel to utrecht university is approximately 45 minutes.

  We are a typical dutch family with a new house and 3 kids. We live in a village that is centrally located in a beautiful part of the Netherlands with a lot of surrounding forest and "heide". Our village is close to big cities like Amersfoort (20 min by bus or 25 min by bike) and Utrecht (40 min by bike+train or 25 min by car). We both enjoy work and are quite travelled ourselves, we can share these stories. We can also share our journey of building our house.
  
  We prefer people who want to make something of their life, and enjoy connecting with others to broaden their horizon. We have some life and professional experience which we are eager to share. We are also eager to hear about your dreams and ambitions. We just try to make the world a slightly better place and we listen and help where we can.
  
  Life is short, life is beautiful. Lets live it.

  Aide

  You can either help with our daily routine that involves taking care of our son in mornings and evenings (the kids go to daycare 4 days/week) and you can help cook / any general tasks in the household.
  
  An alternative if you are more into projects with your hands is to help with DIY projects in and around the house. Geert is quite handy and will assist where needed. Also there are some garden DIY projects, which is mostly Anke's project nowadays.

  Hébergement

  We have spacious room with a double bed and a desk. This is now used an office room and guestroom. We eat at 18u most days where you are always welcome. We share the bathroom upstairs (separate toilet)

  Autres infos...

  In your off time you can enjoy outside life, go to the city or enjoy our house and garden. We will provide a bike so you can move around freely. Public transport is good for Amersfoort or Utrecht but for short distances you'll adapt to the handiness of the bike very fast.
  
  We both work during the weeks, Anke is off on friday. The kids go to daycare the other days. During the mornings and around diner we play with our sons and the weekend we often work around the house on saturday and go out somewhere on sunday. Also we are member of the tennis/padel association that is 3 minutes away from our house.
  
  You are welcome to join most of our activities, but if you like to spend your time by yourselves:
  - Many big and beautiful cities within 1-1,5 hour (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Nijmegen, Den Bosch...) by public transport
  - Beautiful nature (Veluwe and Utrechtse Heuvelrug) around our village for hiking, (mountain)biking, canoeing....
  - In summer you can enjoy the beautiful white sandbeach lake of the Henschotermeer (15 min by bike)
