Nathalie, Nicolas and Lucie hosted me in their beautiful home in Cagnes-sur-Mer for one week in their lovely guest room. Their son, Esteban was away, and so I had a whole bathroom to myself, and a lot of privacy. Now that Cagnes is my new home, I will look forward to meeting Esteban in person. … read more make me feel very welcome in their home with their very warm hospitality. As I am learning French and they speak excellent English, it was a real language exchange. I only spoke to Lucie in English, whilst doing activities together like playing cards or board games. At meal times, they spoke French together as a family, so it was a very good opportunity for me to follow French conversations and to ask questions, if there was anything I didn’t understand. Thanks to Nathalie, I very quickly found an apartment of my own in Cagnes, and thanks to her own experiences, she has a lot of knowledge on tenant and owner rights, which was very helpful indeed. Nicolas was also very kind and helpful, very smiley and cheerful and always in a good mood. Anyone wishing to have a positive au-pair experience will certainly have one in this household. Lucy a été juste parfaite ! Une parenthèse enchantée dans notre quotidien. Elle a parfaitement trouvé sa place dans notre famille. Nous l'avons reçue au sein de notre foyer pour une dizaine de jours et elle s'est parfaitement accommodée des règles de la maison. Les heures de réveil, de retour pour le diner. … read more débarrasser la table, laver les casseroles dans l'évier ou ouvrir le portail comme une personne de la famille. Elle a jouer le jeu de l'échange linguistique à fond ! Elle a joué avec les enfants le soir aux cartes ou a pu faire réviser un contrôle d'anglais ou une poésie à ma fille. Lucy est volontaire et enjouée, facile à vivre. Elle sera toujours la bienvenue chez moi. Je lui ai fait un planning des choses à faire notre région en fonction de nos disponibilités pour l'emmener. Sinon elle a pris le bus et s'est parfaitement adapté à son environnement. Je pense que notre affection pour elle est réciproque. Nous avons déjà convenu de nous revoir en août et cette fois c'est nous qui nous rendrons en Irlande. Bref une très très belle rencontre. Presque un membre de la famille désormais. Comme une évidence... Une fille bien !!!!Fotos

… read more as I am gluten intolerant, and taught me how to make traditional French dishes like quiche Lorraine (gluten-free!). She also helped me discover the beautiful towns surrounding Cagnes sur mer including Nice, Antibes and the artistic village of Saint Paul de Vence. The children were so lovely, well-behaved and well-educated. I had a very comfortable bedroom with patio doors leading out to the garden. Nathalie was very generous and was excited to show me around not only the French Riviera, but also the southeast of France. I spent most of my days with the family, accompanying them to the beach, out to dinner at the castle in Cagnes-sur-mer, and more. Nathalie was understanding about allowing me to take the weekend off.
