  Hello from Lombok! :)
  
  We are a group of young Indonesians dedicated to cultural exchange and community development. Founded by Dayat, our story is one of resilience and rebuilding. After facing challenges, including the impact of Covid, we launched an English club in our village to provide local children with the opportunity to learn English in a fun and relaxed environment.
  
  Our main focus is in Cultural Exchange: The main task we ask to our volunteer is to participate in our English Club. In your free time, you will have the opportunity to experience our community traditions, food and ways of living. Staying with the locals at their homestay and being part of our program, you will be invited to ceremonies, cooking classes, excursions and schools visits among other activities.
  
  Furthermore, as we revitalize our sustainable tourism company,
  We're seeking support in different skills such as web development, design, photography, painting, tour ideas… creative and proactive individuals are welcome! If you share our passion for sustainable tourism and environmental awareness, your presence will contribute to helping the community understand the gravity of our ecological situation.
  
  In summary, we invite volunteers comfortable with kids and English speakers (fluent or not) to join us in teaching and practicing at the English club. You are also welcome to help in other side projects as mentioned above. We will do our best to facilitate free activities or excursions letting you explore off-the-beaten-track destinations and discover the beauty of Lombok
  
  Join our amazing team including Ayung, Rina, Adi, Silvi, Carolina, Nyoman, Memek, Amel and Wayan, from Muslim and Hindu communities in Central Lombok, as we do tasks towards bringing back our company and growing our English club project.

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  Having the opportunity to experience the local way of living in Lombok by living with a local Muslim or Hindu family.
  
  We will kindly ask our volunteers to adjust into our culture: please wear T-shirts and long pants/skirts when walking around the Muslim village and teaching in the English club - of course you are free to wear whatever you want at the basecamp and the Hindu village.

  Aide

  We ask for 1-2 hours a day of volunteering, that includes one or more of the following tasks:
  
  English Teaching: No certifcation needed; your presence can make a signifcant impact. Volunteers comfortable with kids and English speakers (fuency not mandatory) are invited to join our English Club. Teaching experience is a plus, and assistance in enhancing our English teachers' skills is welcomed.
  
  Web Developer: Contribute your web development skills to enhance our online presence and improve our website.
  
  Photography and Videography: Traveling with your equipment or you are great with your phone? We'd love your skills to capture content too! We would love to create promotional content for our tourism company and social projects.
  
  General Assistance: Contribute to our rapid growth by assisting with accommodation management, suggesting new scheduler ideas, and participating in storytelling initiatives.
  
  Copywriting: If you have a way with words, assist in updating our website and social media accounts with engaging content.
  
  Social Media Content Creation: Craft short-form content, reels, Instagram stories, and posts to boost our online presence.
  
  Renovation Skills: Your expertise is highly appreciated as we create a hostel and homestays in the village.
  
  Environmental Advocates: Share your passion for sustainable tourism and the environment. Educate locals on the pressing issue of plastic pollution and contribute to building awareness within the community.
  
  We're not seeking professionals; we value passion and dedication. Our focus is to boost our English club, develop online visibility, improve content, and make a positive impact on the communities.   Explore our available homestays in the village, offering diverse accommodations. Whether you prefer solitude, the warmth of a local family, or the camaraderie of fellow workawayers, we've got you covered.
  
  Bathroom facilities cater to local customs, with options of a Western-style or traditional setup featuring a squat toilet, bucket, and water tap. While hot water may not be available, an authentic experience is guaranteed.
  
  Wif is available in some places, not all. We are working on it.
  
  Our vibrant "basecamp," situated just a short distance from the homestays, is the perfect gathering spot to socialize and create lasting memories.
  
  Enjoy complimentary coffee and tea at your leisure. Your stay ensures not only cultural immersion but also a comfortable and welcoming environment for an enriching experience.
  
  We are asking for a contribution to cover the costs of 2 meals (breakfast and dinner) and accommodation.
  
  From the village, there are ATMs, warungs, supermarkets and local markets only 5 minutes away by scooter. We are 25 minutes away from a bigger city called Mataram (immigration, western restaurants, mall, hospital, etc.) and 1 hour away from Bangsal Harbour and Kuta,
  
  If you do not have access to a motorbike we can help you arrange a renting or bring you around for the activities arranged with the group in exchange for gas expenses.

  We will provide you with more detailed information about the program and activities as well as facilities in transport arrangement in the brief document that we will send you after you reach to us.
  
  You will need to pay for your own transport to get to the village. It is usually around 250k, if you come from Lombok airport or harbor.
  If you come from Bali: you will need to take a ferry of several hours and then take a taxi to our village. We can help you in this arrangement;
  
  Please take into account we are islanders... we apologize for any possible delay, we concieve time in a different manner :D

  Workaway offre des opportunités d'échanges culturels non pécuniaires où les hôtes fournissent le logement et la nourriture en échange de l'aide des workawayers. Dans certains cas exceptionnels, des frais ou une demande de don (généralement pas plus de 5 dollars par jour) peuvent être approuvés pour des hôtes tels que les associations caritatives ayant un historique de feedbacks positifs de la part des bénévoles. Toute somme versée doit aller directement à l'organisation caritative et ne peut être utilisée que pour couvrir les frais de nourriture des bénévoles. Cela sera clairement indiqué sur le profil de l'hôte.
  

  Les annonces provenant d'agents, ou autre type d'intermédiaires, ainsi que les projets qui semblent faire des bénéfices grâce au séjour d'un bénévole sont strictement interdits. Tous les frais doivent être discutés et approuvés au préalable par l'équipe Workaway.
