Descrição
We run a multi-species animal rescue and cultural centre in Campeche, Mexico. Campeche is a beautiful place to get to know the Yucatan Peninsula and we are looking for people of all walks of life to join us in our mission to reduce streetdog populations in Campeche, we work with a network of rescuers and veterinarians as well as having our own rescue centre with 50+ animals (horses, dogs, pigs, goats, chickens and one cat!).
We do live with the animals, so the place isn't the cleanest but we try our best, and sometimes there is an adjustment period when you arrive to us as the animals get to know you. We really appreciate people who are open to getting involved in everything and anything as we never know what each day is going to throw at us with the animals, they make the rules sometimes!Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

We are a multi-cultural team with local and foreign workers, we aim to create a safe space for the community, and for animals. We speak Spanish and English and have connections to learn both languages. We hope to learn about other experiences in the rescue/non-profit sector as well as exchange of culture and create a mutual bond over the love for animals and the environment.
Ajuda
We'd like to get to know people who don't mind getting dirty with the animals, everything from walking and socializing our animals to bathing, feeding and training as well as site maintenance and possibly building. We are also open to people who have experience in fundraising or content creation to help us fund our mission. Everyone gets involved in all of our day to day and share all responsibilities.

I'm learning spanish, having lived here for over 5 years I have picked it up relatively well but I can't practice it with the animals as well as I could with a human!Acomodação
We have a shared house onsite and we provide you with a bed and bedding and access to the bathroom and kitchen. The house is shared with some dogs, dependent on their degree of care needed, as well as potential other workaway-ers. We can group cook if you're up for it, but we prefer to only eat vegan and vegetarian food onsite.

Campeche is a really beautiful city and is still relatively undiscovered, on your days off you can visit local archeological sites, get the bus to the beach, walk in the city and much more!
