Hi! We are friends who met as roommates in college and immediately clicked. We are currently taking a gap year and are will be traveling from Feb-May. Maya is from Vermont and Savannah is from New York. We are studying Physics and Sociology (respectively).

We love hiking, exploring nature and rural areas, teaching and children, farm animals, and learning more about local cultures!

Maya
Interests: tennis, tech theater, astronomy, teaching, music, science, math
I played piano when I was younger and enjoy picking it up every so often! I also enjoy physical activities such as tennis, hiking, kayaking and swimming. This year and last I have worked as an elementary teacher which I thoroughly enjoy. I believe generic subjects such as math and science as well as more free ideas such as outdoor exploration and creativity are both important to a kid's development.

I intern at a local law firm and work in food service on weekends. I have experience in customer service, teaching/leading babies and toddlers, childcare, outdoor and trail preservation, and equestrian activities. I play the violin and tend to pick up a lot of craft-related hobbies, in addition to spending a lot of time outdoors trying to find beautiful places.

We can teach English and would love to learn more of another language. Savannah is a native Mandarin speaker and can teach pronunciation and fluency/conversation but not writing.

Quais são suas habilidades?

We love animals and have cats & dogs at home. We are happy to work outdoors and have no qualms about getting our hands dirty, gardening/farming/etc. We are also both decent vegetarian/vegan cooks and are able to assist with/prep meals. We are very open to DIY tasks, especially anything artistic and crafty.

I love to bake sweets and sourdough bread. I know how to cook some Chinese dishes and am always experimenting in the kitchen. I am also competent in English and some Western riding. I don't have carpentry experience but am willing to learn, and am very interested in interior design!

Maya
I have years of experience working on tech in theaters, so I am competent with basic carpentry skills such as the mathematical planning aspect as well as using power tools for sawing and drilling. Also from my past working as a camp counselor and elementary school teacher I am great with children!
