Hi!

I'm Sam,

I've just resigned my post as a psychiatric nurse working in crisis and intensive care situations for the NHS so I can take time out to reconnect with nature, the world and human experience in a way I feel I've lost and has regained importance after my father falling ill.

I've been fortunate to travel throughout my 20's and had some similar voluntary experiences however I'm seeking a sense of meaning and connection rather than that of a roaming twenty something year old. Saying that the world is my oyster and I'm an adventurer at heart.

I'm essentially trying to learn about alternative ways of living where I can hopefully offer help with my skills from my career but also learn and experience different ways of healing and helping, to travel with purpose. I want to experience nature in its glory and every variety of environment with the challenges and opportunities they present.

Expressing myself through art in various forms has recently provided me with multiple benefits so opportunities to learn and work with people with any artistic flare is of great interest to me. This is a learning phase for me and I would like to develop and share this with others.

I love to cook and would love to learn and share new ideas in the kitchen, I'm open to any kind of opportunities, I'll work my hardest and learn as I go and would love to take part in any project. My mind is open and accepting of everyone and I am looking to explore new world views and perspectives working with people, animals and the environment.

Volunteering around the world is my dream and it starts today.

Quais são suas habilidades?

As a mental health nurse with a range of experience of different ages/needs/acuity I feel I can be helpful and resilient in any given situation, supporting others and engaging meaningfully.

I feel at home outdoors and in the wild and physically I love working the land/trying my hand at construction/creating things physically with an aim to express myself and learn new systems and techniques for living and thriving in various environments.

I love to spend time with animals and have worked with horses/dogs/cats/cows/bees and lots of other little characters too. I would like to further this experience, building connections with animals and the roles they play in different cultures.

I am good with computers and enjoy writing so can help promote or develop projects.

I love to cook and this is a passion I'd like to share and expand my knowledge of.

Culturally I am keen and interested, I want to explore the ways of the world and, learning and sharing as I go.

I am excited to learn and develop new and existing skills and open minded to every
opportunity.
