I'm Rachel, 27 and live in the UK. I was born and grew up in South Africa before moving to the UK when I was eleven. I'm also half Italian, although sadly, because I've not lived in Italy, I'm not confident enough to speak it just yet. For this reason, I am looking to spend a lot more of my time in Italy to help me reconnect with that side of my heritage and to learn the language.

I am a primary school teacher but have spent the last year taking a step back from the classroom and travelling more. I'm still working out what sort of life I want for myself so I'm open to trying lots of new things. I am planning on doing my yoga teacher training in India at the end of 2026 and continue my travels into 2027. Yoga is a part of my daily routine and has become a lifestyle for me. I enjoy food and cooking so I like to eat well. Recently, I've also gotten into gardening, growing an array of plants and vegetables. Being outside and getting my hands dirty is something I'm passionate about. I'm very outdoorsy and love being in nature and living an active lifestyle like, hiking, running, swimming, cycling.

Traveling and building lasting connections with people I meet are some of my favourite things, so I’m looking to do more of that by immersing myself in the everyday lives of the people I stay with.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I am a primary school teacher so I have lots of experience with children. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, cooking healthy meals and am learning more about preserving and fermenting food. I'm currently learning more about gardening and growing my own food. I'm a fast learner and can pick up new skills quickly. I'm fit and happy to get stuck in with any project.
