Hi! My name is Ginger. My sister, Olive, passed her account to me after she finished her own Workaway experience. I'm 22 years old, graduated from the University of Michigan, and am eager to combine my passion for horses and travel before I begin nursing school in January!

I have over 10 years of showjumping experience and 3 years of polo experience. While in college, I served as president of my polo team, managing all chukkers, horse care, and ensuring effective communication with club members. I am experienced in teaching children's riding lessons and handling various aspects of farm care, including stall cleaning and assisting with veterinary needs. Currently, I exercise ride for the local polo club and assist with saddling horses for chukkers.

I am an outgoing and enthusiastic person, and I thrive on meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and being helpful wherever possible! I am always happy to play the 'big sister' role with your children or teens. I always lead with kindness, whether it be with people or animals, and have a great capacity for patience and understanding. My graduate program is in psychiatric nursing, and I know how to hold space for all different kinds of people and the full spectrum of emotions we feel. I hope to be a positive, encouraging presence for you and your family during my stay!

I’ve lived in the U.S. my whole life and am a native English speaker, so I’m very happy to help with English practice in a relaxed and supportive way—whether that’s through conversation, helping with pronunciation, or just day-to-day communication. I also studied French for about eight years, though I’ve definitely lost some of it over time. I’d love the opportunity to practice and improve again if I’m in a French-speaking environment, and I really enjoy language exchange in general. More broadly, I’m very interested in cultural exchange—learning how people live in different places, picking up bits of language, and sharing my own experiences as well. I see that as a big part of what makes this kind of experience meaningful.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I bring a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, adaptable attitude to any environment. I often had volunteer/internship work on top of university which required me to manage my time effectively and be highly organized. I’m very comfortable managing responsibilities, following through on tasks, and communicating clearly.

I’m physically fit and happy to help with hands-on work, whether that’s cleaning, organizing, basic outdoor tasks, or anything that requires energy and consistency. I’m very open to different types of work and am willing to jump in wherever needed.

Overall, I’d describe myself as proactive, responsible, and easy to get along with. I take pride in being someone many can rely on, and I’m excited to contribute in a meaningful way while learning new things.

In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, reading, playing board games, and spending time outdoors. I’ve been getting more into hiking recently and really enjoy staying active. I’m always happy to join in on group activities or just spend time relaxing and connecting with people.
