Hi, my name is Niyen! I’m fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, and can speak basic German. I am trained in Emergency Medical Services in California and I have 2 Bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and German Studies. I am especially passionate about mutual aid and community work- my life very much revolves around community support. I don't mind getting my hands dirty when it comes to work, especially farm work or work with animals! I love to connect with other communities to share experiences and knowledge. I also love to learn languages.

I have completed one workaway in the past, but the host is no longer on this site. I was helping out on a farm in Northern Thailand, where I was helping cut bamboo and take care of a baby elephant. I would help the farmers cut corn, shovel elephant poop, feed and bathe the elephant, and make coffee.

I am based out of California in the US and my primary occupation is a social worker, but I am very artistic and engage in a lot of art and community projects on the side.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have two degrees from UC Irvine in International Studies, with a focus in mediation and conflict resolution, and German Studies.
I speak English and Mandarin! I have experience with basic first aid & emergency medical aid, digital software, social media, and project organizing! I’ve done a lot of grassroots community based aid and work. I’m also a visual artist and painter, and love to do art on all mediums!
