My name is Nalani Meyer and I come from Switzerland. I have just finished matura and I am looking forward to my gap years.
I am very interested in football, books, animals, our nature and psychology, which is why I would really like to study psychology later on.
In my free time, I write a lot, go climbing or hiking, go to football matches and of course I love meeting up with Family and friends.
The most important things for me are my parents and my sisters. I would do anything for them. But of course my friends are extremely important to me too.
I'm very curious and love learning new things. If I find something interesting, I want to know everything about it. I am very open-minded and believe there is something good in everyone. Ever since I was little, helping other people or animals has fulfilled me.
I live in Switzerland and am therefore privileged, for which I am very grateful. But I also know that I was very lucky and that not everyone is that lucky. That's why I decided to spend my gap year helping others. I am good with animals and have always had a soft spot for them. I did a one-month internship in a veterinary clinic and realised that I found it so fulfilling to look after animals, so I decided, i want to help animals this year. I also wanted to change my perspective and see life from a different point of view. I want to get to know a different culture, new people and a new language. That's why I decided to go to South America.
I speak fluent German, good English and some French. I really want to learn Spanish, which is why I will be attending a language school before my placement.
I am very much looking forward to my assignment, i am prepared to work physically, to help where i can and i am looking forward to meeting new people and animals.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I went to school for 13 years and passed the matura (abitur). I speak fluent German, very good English any some French. I am happy to help if someone wants to learn a language that I can speak. My goal is to learn the basics of spanish before my work-away assignment.
I am very responsible and take tasks given to me very seriously. I know where my skills lie and ask for help when I don't know something. I am very motivated for new tasks, especially if I can help and I have a quick mind. I have been doing photography for four years and therefore I am good with cameras.
I did an internship on a farm and helped out there every day. I also did an internship in psychiatry and in a veterinary clinic. At the psychiatric clinic I talked to patients, played games and went for walks with them, at the vet's I looked after the animals that had been operated and cleaned their cages. I have a driving licence since 1/2 a year. At home I help with the housework and enjoy looking after our pets.
