Hello, I'm Mutale,18 years old from the Central Coast of California, USA.

Growing up in a rural coastal town I spent my days with friends, family, and sometimes alone, swimming in the Pacific ocean and exploring the the landscape of California, from the coastline, to the redwoods, to the Mojave Desert.

Upon graduating high school I traveled through central & eastern Europe with my mother. In July I began solo travel with my first Workaway in Puglia, Italia with my second in the ancient mountain village of Pentedattilo, Reggio Calabria. I then ventured to rural Norway completing 3 Workaways in Etnedal, Lillehammer, and Spikkestad. I've done 5 Workaways, all different from one another but all memorable experiences.

After some months of the rural life, I visited my relatives in High Wycombe, England (30 minutes from London). There, I explored the fast-paced, diverse, and pricey metropolitan life. As a bit of an artist, I joined a ceramic studio to continue practicing the craft I learned while in high school and will carry with me forever.

Four months later, I lived in Kabwe, Zambia for 2 months with my Mbuya and many other family members in the neighborhood. Here in Zambia my family has 3 plots, two of which are small scale farms.

My mother is Taiwanese and her and my grandfather have studied ancient Chinese medicine. My mother is a practitioner of massage and cupping. I, myself, am interested in traditional Chinese healing philosophy as well as Eastern practices of spirituality.

I can offer help with social media marketing/digital artwork as I am certified in AdobePhotoshop and have the software downloaded on my laptop. I also make/edit videos.

I paint and have taken a studio art class, and do home DIY projects as well. I sew, read, play football, volleyball, and am starting qigong.

I've solo traveled for 7 months now and have come to realize how just how integral nature is to my well being, as well as connecting with others and contributing to projects that improve life, even if it's one person.

At the moment I'm awaiting the results on my university applications. I will study at university in the United States come fall 2024, with the end goal of becoming working in medicine or law (subject to change as plans do).

I am TEFL certified and teach English virtually.

I acknowledge my young age, but if you view my profile/resume my multitude of experiences are evident.

I will be 19 on March 28th, 2024.

Quais são suas habilidades?

First job in food service industry at 14 years old as food server, and have worked 5 jobs in the food service since then.

3 years restaurant experience/ customers service, kitchen cleaning, cooking/prepping food, tracking inventory, being part of a team.
-briefly worked in a clothing store.

Cared for two girls, 6 and 8 for two years. Worked summer camps with children, mainly art projects but also recreational sports. I'm currently tutoring 2 nine year-old girls in English, and I also teach my Zambian cousins Math and games like chess (they are between 6-12 yrs. old).

Experienced in gardening/tree planting, farm-life, house maintenance, low-level wood working, cooking, art (painting, pottery, sculpting, drawing). Certified in Adobe Photoshop.

Two workaways in Italy- small farms aiming for self sufficiency. One was a small tourist restaurant and AirBnB. Both farms had goats and chickens.

Two workaways in Norway- general home and garden maintenance, i.e. weeding, fence painting, oiling, sanding, building terrace garden, general DIY repairs, strimmer

I love providing warm hospitality and being around people. Working on self-sufficient farms with a team is ideal for me, so we can live well together.

I enjoy cleaning and refurbishing homes and furniture, I am good at DIY. If you need help organizing and/or cleaning, I will be up to the task, all I need are the tools and time

I am a white belt in martial arts, I like to practice on my own. Hopefully I can find dojos along the way as I travel.

I enjoy Pilates exercise as it is an amazing way to strengthen and stretch the body.

Honestly, I just find great solace communing with nature...laying under a tree, swimming in the ocean or any cold water, warming up under the sun...also I love dogs, cats, horses...animals are peaceful
