I am athletic and enjoy sports and more importantly I am blessed with good health and a good attitude.

I am mother to three beautiful adults and three special grandchildren. My oldest son, Sam 34, is a school teacher in Carman Manitoba, Canada, my daughter, Molly 33,is heading into architectural studies at the university of Melbourne, Australia and my youngest son, Jim 31, works industrially in quality control in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. I’m happy to say, All three are in loving long term relationships and are busy building their own families and careers. I support them by visiting and staying in touch regularly and virtually.

The most valuable achievement in my life, beyond raising three self reliant children and maintaining other family relationships, has been the discovery and development of a beautiful collection of friends in Canada and around the world. This has developed through many years of working in child care, hospitality and Human Resources.

In my career, I experienced a number of industry changes mainly due to relocating for my husband’s career advancement. During the 30 years of marriage and the early career years, I worked in human resources payroll and benefits administration, event planning, small business in child care as well as retail, hospitality and travel.

Independently, while raising my children, I and owned and operated a daycare (5 years Calgary) and a bed and breakfast (3 years) Guelph and after my marriage ended I opened an Airbnb (5 years Guelph) seasonally (4 months) and student rental (8 months).

The Airbnb operated (2016-Civid) during our Canadian summer months May- August and from September through April I rented to university students. I had repeat guests and students. The longest student rental stayed 4 consecutive years. During the student period, I travelled extensively visiting family, friends, doing workaway and perusing other interests such as studying TEFL.

When COVID began I closed the Airbnb for 2+ years and reopened in December 2021 then returned to long term guests/students in September 2022.

In my lovely two story home which boasts three bedrooms with three private bathrooms I share with 2 students for 8 months (note I travel at this time as well) and during the 4 months of summer when the students leave I have the luxury of privacy or if desired I share my place with family and friends.

I have been enjoying Ontario and Canada during summer and at the same time I can manage general maintenance of two properties, one in Guelph and the other a beautiful waterside property near Lions Head.

The lifestyle I have created is very comfortable. I love my home in Guelph and cottage in Lions Head. Also I enjoy road tripping to my son and his family in Carman and other family in Cape Breton, Calgary and Grand Forks. I enjoy Travel and adventure Beyond Canada feel confident there will be many opportunities for workaway ahead.
