Hi there! I'm Malena, 23yo from Germany. I am a curious soul who loves exploring the magic of this life and meeting new people from different paths. Currently, I am on my semester break from my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and looking to exchange my energy and skills for cultural experiences!

Whenever I could, I've prioritized traveling. It shifted from a more "sightseeing" kind of way when I was younger, to Work and Travel in New Zealand, backpacking SE Asia, and the last years in the form of slower traveling through work exchanges. I've realized that the most valuable moments come from building meaningful connections to people that call the place I want to see their home, from slowing down and contributing to meaningful projects that matter for the local communities.

I'm a very reliable and honest person and I always try to treat anything and anyone with respect and love. I realized that often I am the listener in conversations, but I also love sharing my own silly thoughts and worldviews. I enjoy slow, peaceful times but am always open for spontaneous adventures!

I love spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, through hiking, swimming, photography and work in the garden. I love long conversations, coffee, the seasons, sunrises, a good book, plant-based food and trying out new hobbies. I grew up with cats and dogs and love being around animals. I'm passionate about animal care, conservation work, beach cleanups, ...

When it comes to work experience, I have worked in hospitality for many years: in cafes as a barista, a server in a bar and a kitchen hand in a 4-star hotel in the mountains. 'm comfortable with physical work and enjoy being outside and don't mind getting dirty. I have experience with farm work (veggie/fruit orchards), painting and basic DIY and I'm always happy to pick up new skills and learn along the way!!

Quais são suas habilidades?

My English is on a pretty good level as I studied abroad for one year and travelled around New Zealand the last 7 months. I don’t have any experience teaching but I generally am good in working with people in all ages.

I worked in my church group as a team leader for children between 13 and 16 years old. We did game instructions, round of talks and making music together.

I worked in a cafe for four years, in the kitchen of a hotel and as a bartender, which taught me the basics of customer service, hygiene and barista skills. I love interacting with guest and prioritizing their happiness.

I’m a really active person, I love being outside in nature and giving something back to planet. I love animals and grew up around them as well.

I’m super open to learn any kind of new skills and am really adaptable!! Things on my list that I want to try are surfing, creating websites, teaching smaller kids and working in more hospitality related jobs.

I don't mind getting dirty and working outside in all weathers. I have worked on orchards and did some basic painting and gardening jobs.
