Hi!
My name is Lieke, I am 22 years old. At the moment I am traveling for 9 months through South-America, after finishing my exchange semester in Chile.

I love meeting new people and trying new things. During my time in Chile I have learned to speak spanish, but I am always trying to practice more in order to improve.

I would like to try different types of Workaways, and am very open to new experiences. I love being in nature, and studied the BSc Soil Water Atmosphere (very unknown, like earth sciences). I have discovered a specific interest for biodiversity and conservation.

I hope to enjoy each day, and look forward to meeting the hosts and other Workawayers!

Quais são suas habilidades?
I am really motivated, and always try to do the best I can. My semester in Chile has brought me in contact with many people from different cultures, and taught me how to speak Spanish (I had English bilingual education in high school).

During my BSc Soil Water Atmosphere I have learned to think analytically and understand a lot of natural processes. I have been giving tutoring lessons in physics, mathematics, chemistry, geography and English for the past 4 years.

I love nature and animals, and have taken care of the horses, chickens and dogs we have at my parents house. I moved out 4 years ago, and am therefore independent. I know how to cook and clean.

In high school I worked for 2 years in an institution providing horse riding classes for people with a mental or physical disability. This taught me a lot about communication, patience and care for others.

I've had a great experience in Mariquita!! The students are really eager to learn, and you get a lot of freedom doing the classes! I think it's nice to prepare something beforehand, to keep the classes fun and diverse. The staff is also very welcoming, and helped me a lot during my stay. Lieke was a fantastic girl, she was very out going, always friendly, responsable and proactive, she did all the activities we planned with passion and love, she has excellent skils to teach, students and teachers really enjoyed the time she was here in Mariquita helping us. I highly recomend Lieke.
