Hello all,

My name is Leah, I am 28 years old, from the beautiful west of Ireland. I’ve had wonderful experiences as a workawayer in my early 20s, where I volunteered on organic farms, guesthouses and other projects in Europe. I’m so excited for this next adventure in South East Asia!

I have a Master’s qualification in Psychology, and certificates First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and Safeguarding (Adults and Children). I have worked with adults with mental health and learning needs. I also have a Bachelor's degree in English. I am passionate about supporting individuals of all backgrounds, and would welcome the opportunity to do so in a variety of ways. For example: teaching English to adults or children, supporting those with additional needs, contributing to community projects.

I have worked in hospitality (hostels and hotels) for many years in a variety roles from reception to housekeeping, which allowed me to develop skills I hope will be valuable while volunteering. I am very much looking forward to a cultural exchange and learning the ways and traditions of your locality.

I have also worked as an au pair in the past and have experience teaching English to children and teenagers. At home, I have tutored secondary school children in English and other subjects so would be happy to give a hand with homework and lessons! I l enjoy cooking and would love to lend a hand with meals and cook healthy, nourishing dishes for others. I am a vegetarian and love foods from many cultures. I am happy with a simple diet and can work around whatever food is availalbe in your area.

I am fascinated by other cultures and will be happy to immerse myself in any environment I'm in. I hope to learn new languages while I travel as well.

Tourism/Hospitality

I have worked in several hotels and hostels in Ireland over the years as a receptionist, housekeeping assistant and housekeeping supervisor. I under how to create a warm, welcoming environment for guests and how to maintain excellent cleanliness standards.

Teaching/Childminding

I have experience with children as I have worked as an au pair in the past, and have done babysitting. I have a degree in English and have taught English to children while au pairing as well as teaching English and other subjects to secondary school children in my local area.

Gardening/Outdoor Work

I worked in several gardens and farms when I was a workawayer in the past. I tended to gardens, looked after crops and cared for animals (chicken, donkeys and horses). I love dogs and cats and have done dogsitting during workaways and for many friends.

Social Care

I have a Masters degree in Psychology and have worked as Support Worker with adults and children with mental health diagnoses and learning needs. I understand the importance of creating a compassionate space for individuals to be heard, supported and thrive.
