Hi,

My name is Julie, I’m 20 years old, and I’m from the Czech Republic. Traveling solo has always been something I wanted to try - going on an adventure by myself, exploring new cities and landscapes, admiring nature’s beauty, meeting new people, making connections (while also disconnecting from certain things), and discovering different perspectives, cultures, and inspiring ways of life. Since I’ve already had the chance to experience all of this through solo traveling, I want to continue broadening my horizons even further.

I have experience with volunteering. I used to volunteer with the humanitarian agency ADRA, where I mainly spent time with elderly people as a companion. I also helped at various events organized by an environmental group focused on ecology and biodiversity (where I even learned how to use a scythe!). I believe volunteering is truly special because it’s about helping others simply for the sake of doing good, without expecting anything in return. Of course, with Workaway, there are mutual benefits, but I still see it as an amazing way to bring people together in a meaningful way.

I have many interests and love to learn. I like nature - I enjoy hiking or just being outdoors and feeling present. I also have an interest in natural sciences, including physics (which I study), math, biology, and chemistry. Besides that, I appreciate art, music, philosophy, and languages. In general, my goal is to deepen my understanding of the world, people, and the essence of life itself.

Here on Workaway, I’m looking for opportunities to volunteer abroad, gain experience in sustainable living, and learn more about vegetarianism/veganism, animal care, and living in closer connection with nature and people. I’d also like to improve my German, French, and Spanish. My English level is C1, my French is B2, and I’m a beginner in German and Spanish. Besides that, I’m excited to meet new people, spend time working outside in the fresh air, and develop new practical skills.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Im native Czech, so I can share my own language. I also speak English quite well and French (upper intermediate). I like cooking and baking. I have tried many recipes from different cuisines. For example Indian, French, Mexcian, Italian... I like gardening and I already have some experience via Workaway. I know how to scythe, though I'm not very good at it :) I can play the guitar and the flute. And I'm also not bad with braiding hair :)
