I'm an American that's left the US in search of greener pastures. I'm seeking people and experiences that'll help me grow as a person. I've spent the better part of the last 10 years traveling, and have been to 20 countries and 30 US states. I spent a year converting a full size American school bus into a tiny home, and then traveled around the states in it for three years. I'm new to the work away program, but I've been an active member of the couch surfing community for roughly 8 years, and have over 100 references. I'm a bit strange because I have really good people skills, a good sense of humor, and can get along with pretty much anyone; but I prefer to spend most of my time alone. All the time I spend alone, self reflecting, actually makes me much more enjoyable to be around.

Carolien is an excellent host! She made me feel comfortable in her home right away. I never really felt like a "workawayer" at her place, but more like part of the family. Both of her kids are kind and engaging. I enjoyed my time in Rotterdam, thanks to Carolien, and I'd highly recommend her as a workaway host.
