Experience in hospitality: I worked in a hostel in Costa Rica for a month February 2023, then worked aboard a sail boat going between Panama and Colombia for another month in March 2023. At the hostel I handled reception and cleaning. On the sailboat I was responsible for cooking 3 meals a day for all passengers and the captain, as well as a nightly watch.
Experience working with children: From Aug - Dec 2022, I worked for a nonprofit in Chile that takes kids surfing. My role included loading surfboards, cleaning wetsuits, driving vans, creating a safe environment for kids to play in the ocean, etc.. as well as teaching English classes and creating social media posts. Getting kids outside and fostering a connection with nature is something I'm passionate about. The outdoors has a way of inspiring curiosity and confidence, two values that are key to a fruitful life:)
I studied Environmental Science and Mathematics as an undergraduate, and am well-versed in sustainability and feel that I could be an asset to eco-projects. During the summer of 2021, I lived in a sustainable community in Costa Rica. My role in this community included farm work and general chores (cleaning, painting, and basic upkeep). During my time in Costa Rica, I studied agroforestry and permaculture, so I have some knowledge of sustainable farming practices and experience with farm work.
I have also worked for a Marine Science lab where I worked in water quality and coastal protection.
Other previous work experience includes working at a waste management facility where I helped pilot a recycling program. This job included coordinating with local bar and restaurant managers to join the program and manual labor to set up new recycling centers.
I would describe myself as a very go-with-the-flow, adaptable person. I am always open to learning something new and pushing the limits of my so-called comfort zone:)Idade

It was a pleasure to host Joey, and she rose to occasions when I needed her to tidy and clean the rooms at a moments notice.
Joey got on with everyone! I happily recommend her as a workawayer.
Charlie's hostel is wonderful - It is clean with an incredible kitchen, nice accommodations, and really nice showers. Th layout really encourages socializing. For my 30 days there, there was not a single guest I didn't like. The vibe of Pavones attracts such a lovely crowd, meaning there was always a friend… read more
