I moved from Mauritius Island to UK in the 80's after my A-levels for my studies.After 8 years in Surrey,England I have lived in Europe for the last 27 years,mainly in Denmark.
I love discovering new areas, meet with new people and cultures.

I worked in financial and business development.
I also owned a cafe and cocktail bar in Denmark while carrying out my daily job.

In the last 15 years I've been running Gites a few weeks every year,hosting pilgrims on the Compostella Santiago routes in Spain & France.

I enjoy DIY (bricolage). I could help with repairs..some concrete or mortar, electrical, plumbing, painting & decorating as long as you have the right tools & equipment.

I've also worked with Charities and organisations for homeless.

I am a people's person, able to adapt myself pretty easily to a new environment.
Been involved with volunteering for various associations since my teenage years.
A good planner I can carry out assignments on my own. I'll try to adapt my skills to your needs.The first part of my trip is UK where I studied and worked for 10 years. I do not mind stays between 1 - 3 months.
Meeting new people and nurturing relationship surely does not happen in a day!!!

I do voluntary work specially working with the elderly as well as the homeless.

I am also interested to experience and learn about how people live a sustainable life, organic gardening/farming.

Although not an artist myself, I love music, painting, sculpture, ceramics with regular visits to museums,shows, concerts and art exhibitions

I grew up with cats,dogs and horses.
During my travels I look forward to meet artists and people who are involved with community work and eco conscious.

A WINE enthusiast, I have done grape harvest a few times as well as helping during the bottling period.

It would be great to spend some time in a wine growing area or with a wine maker.⁹

Where do I start?
Iveta is a warm kind and generous person.
Staying with her and her son Josh was a very nice expe¹rience. I felt being part of the family.

Ronnie helped me with many , and varied projects around my house and garden. He came up with some good ideas to improve my experience here in France! Wonderful time spent at Glenda and Igloo( the dog). Work varied. You could work at your own rhythm and choose your own hours. Works varied. I enjoyed a nice relaxing atmosphere., even got introduced to "Designated survivor"

Among my best experiences so far....Chris is generous, hospitable and considerate. She cares a lot that your stay goes well; always checking that we have enough food, bed linen is changed weekly or that we did not go over the agreed working hours. Ronnie was here just under a month and mainly did gardening and DIY. DIY involved replacing some floorboards as well as sanding and re-oiling the wooden garden furniture. Should there be a place during your workaway trip to visit, get to meet Sandra and Dave. Great hosts!!
Chill atmosphere. Nice company. Meeting their friends, going out for a meal, just to name a couple of activities.
