Hi. My name is James and I am originally from Ireland, but have spent the past few years living abroad in a few different countries. I love to travel and experience other cultures. Usually I work online in Web Development, but in 2023 I have decided to take the year off from full time work, and learn some new skills related to my career.
This gives me the extra time and flexibility to try new things and meet new people through Workaway.

I have taught English before and it was enjoyable, so I would be very happy to do this again. My own personal goal for 2023 is to learn Spanish, as I plan to spend a couple of years in Latin America towards the end of this year.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Although my main skillset is technical, I really love to be outdoors and do manual work too. I have worked on a building project in Kenya many years ago, and while my skills in this are are a little rusty I think I could definitely be of good use in more practical projects like building. In the past I worked as a stage manager in Theatre, so designing sets and building were a big part of this.
I have also taught English to Chinese students in the past, so this could also be something that could be useful for hosts with children.

My main hobbies are playing Tennis, reading, learning new things, and travel.
I try to spend as much time in nature as possible, so when I move somewhere I want to make sure it has easy access to either mountains or sea. I love to hike, so mountains are preferable.
I recently got into gaming, but it is something that I try to limit as it eats up too much time otherwise, but I allow myself the occasional Mario Kart binge :-)
