Hello everyone!
We're Emanuele and Anastasia, a married young couple from Italy
(Emanuele is Italian, Anastasia is Russian).

Emanuele is a musician, a composer, and a writer with 2 LPs and 1 EP published, as well as 3 books written: 2 for adults and 1 for kids. Anastasia is a Life Coach. She builds her business online and helps other people choose inner harmony instead of hustle and burnout.

We're new to the Workaway platform, but we're already in love with its values of volunteering and making the world a better place by working and enjoying some time together with the hosts and other volunteers. We're fast learners, so any skills you need from us will be learned in no time. We can cook and clean without any problems, but we'll need some help with more specific activities like gardening or taking care of animals at first.

We, as a couple, love to travel, meet new people and stay in contact with nature. We're open-minded, friendly, adventurous, funny, and always ready to see the positive side and beauty of life. We love deep conversations and getting to know others better.

We're also responsible workers who want to help you as much as possible and make new friends on the way. Lots of times, we worked in a team (starting from school and finishing with work). We are solution-oriented and can be leaders if it's required. However, we're never bossy or rude - always respectful, empathetic, and acting in favor of everyone, attentively listening to opinions of others and following instructions you share with us.

In our free time, we like to explore different activities, so if we can learn some new skills from you - we'll be very happy and curious to ask you many questions! We also love reading, watching series or films, walking, listening to different music albums, and having fun (playing cards like UNO, board games, solving puzzles or playing cozy videogames)

Staying in a countryside or away from the noise of the city is our dream. We're into hiking, exploring new natural spots, and enjoying the calm atmosphere around us.

We look forward to meeting you, helping as much as we can and spending some great time together!!!

- we travelled to Serbia and lived in Russia for 9 months together

Our experience with Adele and her family (Stefano and Betty) was incredible. Honestly, we couldn’t wish for better hosts for our first volunteering with Workaway. From the moment we were met at the station of Vaglia, we felt welcomed in the house, and by the end of some weeks, we knew we found a new family.

We stayed in Adele’s room, in the same… read more house where she and her parents live. This place is so warm and cozy! There is everything you need including your personal space, hot water, towels and soaps, and a comfortable bed to sleep on. Interesting fact: the house was built from 0, so you can see how much love was put in every single corner of it (and there are many interesting stories to hear on this matter).

As for the help, we were there to collect and cut the woods, sort and carry some old things, mawn the lawn, and help remove old plants from the vegetable garden + plant some onion and salad. We were explained how to do the work very clearly, and we often worked together with the family members, so we didn’t have to worry about working alone. Clothes, gloves and boots were provided to us, so we didn’t need to bring anything from home.

When the weather wasn’t good, we were working less or anyway stayed under cover of the roof, and the hosts were always so kind and respectful in this matter. They also never created problems about choosing days off, and we were able to get organized with personal plans also in the middle of the week.

All the people we met during our experience were wonderful. Starting from the hosts and finishing with neighbors, a gardener, and their friends. Everyone was so welcoming and curious to find out more about us. We had great conversations with all these people, and even tried different kinds of food they brought, like home-made pie, salad or cheese.

Conversations with Adele and her parents were always interesting. All 3 of them have travelled so they have a lot to share, and they are very open-minded about the world. They also have a great sense of humor and many interesting stories to tell. Adele’s parents speak Italian only, but as we understood, they anyway use Google translator to communiate with foreigners if they visit their house.

Oppenness to the world can be noticed even in food that was cooked, with 3 meals provided a day. Everything was always delicious and not always typically «Italian», which was great for us as we also like discovering new tastes and dishes. We mostly spent time together while eating and working, having all the rest of time free for ourselves which was very useful and comfortable for organizing our work online.

As we don’t have a car or driver license, we were taken from and to the train station, and from Florence (when Betty was there), and we were always grateful for it.

In reality, we could keep writing endlessly about how great our time in Vaglia was, but you’d better go and experience it yourself! You’ll find loving home, the most beautiful souls that welcome you as their dearest friend, and, of course, tranquility of nature with unbelievable sunsets and views for the forest and mountains.

Thanks a lot for everything, Adele, Betty and Stefano! We look forward to visiting you again one day :)

esperienza piú che positiva.
Hanno vissuto in famiglia tre settimane in maniera super rispettosa e piacevole.
Pur non avendo avuto esperienza dei lavori precedentemente, sono stati entrambi volenterosi e sono sempre riusciti a portare il risultato a fine giornata.
Per noi è stato molto bello averli in casa.
