Hi everyone :)
I am Ellen, 25 years old, from Germany. I recently handed in my masters thesis in UI/UX-Design and am now planning on traveling a few months in New Zealand, starting in November 2025 in Auckland.
I'm open minded, always smiling, happy to meet new people and love to spend time in the nature or at the beach. I'm an active person and like exploring new cities and cultures.
In 2022 I spent two months travleing Canada and in 2023 Australia. Besides traveling I also did a few workaways. I was helping out on a vine yard, did garden work and some carpentry and painting and helped in cooking, cleaning and other chores, that needed to be done in and around the house.
I'm grateful for the experiences that I was able to gain during this time and would love to gather more great workaway experiences.
Some more information about myself:
I usually get on well with everyone, I am passionate about baking, I love animals, I'm into UI/UX-Design, I like to go snorkeling or surfing and would be happy to improve my english. :)

Quais são suas habilidades?
As I only did four workaways so far, I can't look back on many farmstays or helping out on a ranch for a long time but I would really love to improve my skillset belonging to that.
In my childhood I spent a lot of my vacations on farms, feeding the animals or camping and just being outdoors. I also was helping my mom in our garden (and I still am) which includes planting salad, strawberries, tomatoes or herbs, harvesting apples or cherries, mowing and other general tasks around the house.
I am also able to use a drilling machine, a hammer or a saw, as well as painting walls or other things and I would love to learn a lot more!
Also I like baking and cooking and doing creative stuff, like photography, drawing on canvas or working with wool. Furthermore I quite have an eye for interior design.

Jane and Tom are the loveliest and most welcoming people you could imagine and they made me immediately feel at home when I arrived at their beautiful place on Raymond Island.
Tom picked me up at the train station in Bairnsdale which made it very easy to come to Raymond Island from Melbourne.

The time we had together was most enjoyable for me. You are so thoughtful and have and have such a great sense of humor, always looking out for best in anything that is in front of you.
You have left me with a perfect green house roof, shelving and O my the spice rack...The spice rack will make Martha Stewart jealous ! When… read more
On the sunny days we worked together on the shelfing and the roof of the greenhouse or did some gardenig. When it was rainy, we were working inside, doing some interior design or labeling the spices. :)
