Hello, my name is Courtney. :)

I am currently traveling India with plans to visit Nepal as well. I have a passion and a profesional background in wildlife conservation--specifically in behavioral research as well as wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release back into the wild. In this field, I have gained much experience in living in very basic and wilderness conditions, resourcefulness, self motivation, and cross cultural management of both local staff and international volunteers.

I value finding the joy and connection in that which costs no money, community, hard work, shared perspectives, art, and a drive to build a positive impact in the world. I also practice yoga and wish to deepen my understanding and dedication during this trip.

Through previous workaways as well as formal work experience, I have also gained basic skills in construction, farming and plant care, excel data processing, graphic design, coral restoration, scuba diving, conducting field surveys, mangrove restoration, grant writing, and public outreach.

I am a pretty good vegan cook with influences from friends and experiences from several parts of the world, as I have lived in 5 different countries for my work--most often, in rural or isolated nature-surrounded communities.

Cultural exchange is such a magical part of travel and I love sharing and learning from each other. I also love ethical wildlife spotting, hiking, trekking, paddleboarding, creative projects, arts and crafts, dancing, rock climbing, camping, camp fires, trying new things, and making fermentations--especially kombucha!

I am very experienced in communal living, wildlife conservation, physical labor and cultural exchange. I am a great cook and writer, tidy, innovative and creative, self motivated, and able to provide labour in daily tasks, animal care, conservation aspects, regenerative farming and construction.
