Hi!

I'm Costas and I come from sunny Cyprus.

In 2022 I packed my stuff on my motorcycle and with a one-way ticket, off I went for a journey around Europe. The idea was to get to see and live in as many countries as possible, work, volunteer, explore each culture, and meet interesting people along the way.

As a scanner personality, I bring with me an abundance of knowledge, experiences and skills as well as the right attitude for learning and trying out new things. I'm therefore eager to work and explore the world as much as possible and what better way of doing that, than Workaway! I wish to meet people from a multitude of backgrounds, experience different living conditions, and enjoy life to the fullest.

I love being outdoors, in nature and surrounded by animals. In recent years, I have come to know the amazing world of birds through birdwatching and bird photography. If interested, I might be able to teach you a thing or two. I also enjoy going on adventures and have an itch for getting lost, exploring and discovering little known places. I like to keep active and enjoy hiking, swimming, dancing and skiing during winter. I also cherish stillness, a good book, and a colourful sunset.

I'm quite easy going, and a team player as I always got along well with others. Although I enjoy communicating and consider myself sociable since I have many friends and acquaintances, I tend to listen more than speak. At the same time, I respect the privacy and space of other people so I take advantage of that for some alone time.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I possess a number of soft and hard skills, but most importantly, I'm always eager to learn more.

I have extensive knowledge and experience in marketing/management as this is what I studied and have worked in this field for 8 or so years. I could therefore provide help in this area as well as general support with internet and computers.

I do however enjoy working with my hands, be it in the garden, planting, pruning or weeding; creating stone paths; cleaning and caring for animals (grew up with cats and dogs and seem to have a real connection to animals); working on diy projects with or without power tools, etc.

Recent finalised projects include restoring a motorcycle, building a traditional stone wall, creating a vegetable garden, painting a house, sanding and plastering, fitting wallpaper and fitting wooden floors.

I also have extensive experience in working within the hospitality industry, having worked both as a bartender and waiter. I have also been involved in helping out a 5-start Airbnb, as well as a lovely high end hostel in Switzerland. This involved meticulous cleaning, washing, ironing, greeting guests and helping them out to ensure a positive and pleasant stay.

A more recent experience, involved working at a 4 star hotel in Spain for the summer as a waiter, host and bartender. I pride myself in customer service and satisfaction and this was reflected in the feedback I got from the guests, clients, management as well as the owner.

In the past, I served as both the president and event coordinator for one of the biggest car clubs in Cyprus, ensuring the successful coordination and organisation of 25 events and activities.

What's more, I have had the pleasure to work at 2 different summer camps for kids ages 6-14. I did this for 7 consecutive years.

I speak both English and Greek fluently and I can also communicate in Spanish but I'm learning more every day.

Finally, I hold both a British and European passport, and possess a car and motorcycle drivers licence.
