Hi there, my name is Jimmy (Jim, if you prefer). I'm an older English ESL teacher, back from a number of years teaching English in China. In fact, I still teach some English classes in the mornings online - and sometimes late at night due to the time difference in China. However, I'm free to work in the afternoons and evenings. I have a big'ish motorhome (7.5 meters long) and a small young dog. I'm friendly, reliable and of a good nature/attitude + sense of humour. I'm a non-smoker, but a cold beer at the end of the day is something I can enjoy especially in the summer. I'm physically fit and active and I'm pretty good at DIY and building working in general. While I’m not particularly looking to teach English as such it could certainly be an option. I appreciate 'Workaway' is more geared towards younger people/students, but I'm hoping my age, skills and experience could be utilised in a mutually rewarding way.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I'm very good at DIY and general building work/painting/decorating, shifting stuff etc. (I'm fit and healthy). I have a clean UK driving license with C1 entitlement (I can drive a vehicle up to 7,500 kg, with a trailer weighing up to 750 kg). And I good at cleaning whether that's in a kitchen or in a toilet, i.e. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I could also help out in a garden/a farm/smallholding although I don't have a great deal of experience in this. If it meant working with animals I'm sure I'd love it. I did a CELTA (a qualification for teaching English) In Buenos Airies and following this a few of us went to work on a sheep and cattle ranch - a magical memory! And yes, while I teach English as I'm looking to travel around the UK, I don't really see this as being much of an option - I'll continue to do this from my motorhome in the mornings. I have my own mobile WiFi.

I come with a motorhome and a small dog - I brought my dog over from China - I'm teaching him English, haha! My dog isn't any trouble, he lives in my motorhome and I walk him regularly. I would be looking to live/cook in my motorhome for the most part, but please don't think I'm antisocial - I'd love to make some good/new friends. My motorhome is quite big, 7.5 metres long. I'm independent now in terms of power as I've installed 400w solar panels - so I don't need EHU, i.e. mains electrical power. I could also take a short trip in my motorhome to top up my lithium batteries with the B to B charger (battery to battery) if needed. In addition I have my own LPG gas onboard for my gas cooker and for my fridge.
