Hi

We are Christian and Lea, our 3 beautiful kids (11, 8 and 5) and our cat Frankie. We are a German Brazilian family, who is based in Sydney atm.

We love traveling and we love to make new friends and support and help others with our skills and knowledge and we also love to learn from you.

We've traveled extensively in the past in South America and also lived some time and did road trips in Europe, New Zealand, New Caledonia. We are trilingual family (English, German and Portuguese).
Living in Sydney we are using our free time to travel with a Coaster bus to explore Australia, looking for permacultural inspirations and exchange and a lot of interest and respect learning about and from First Nations culture and people. Another main interest for us is homeschooling and/or unschooling, exchange with other families how they are doing it. We love to be in nature and in remote places.

We are passionate climate activists, in Sydney we are involved in the anti-fossil fuel movement, but our true passion is Permaculture and promoting real alternatives and hope.

We are skilled in natural building, Christian is an allrounder, loves carpentry or fixing cars and is always looking for handy projects, he has experiences in installing solar energy systems, we also love cooking, do our own sourdough bread, Kombucha and some other easy fermented food, our whole wheat pizza is delicious, so are our curries. We love to invent recipes with whatever is in season and freshly harvested.
Professionally Christian is a software engineer, working remote and Lea is an event manager and very experienced and creative in creating practical strategies to bring like minded people together for promoting positive change.

Our kids are very curious and very helpful people. They are very social and free spirits, that love to help and get involved, always curious to learn new skills and have different experiences. Our kids love animals and they are also interested in music (instruments and singing). In general they don't have screen access and are being raised in nature as much as possible. They read a lot, are interested in art, planting, exploring nature, climbing trees and love board and card games.

Our cat travels with us and she is an indoor cat. She is truly happy staying in the bus, in fact she is scared to leave the bus, but she doesn't like to be home alone, she enjoys sleeping with us. She will never leave the bus and obviously everything she needs is provided. She won't get out of the bus at anytime.

We love to receive people from all over the world and dive into different cultures, especially the food :) Even here in Sydney with very limited space we are always having visitors and travelers around.

Not sure, if this is important for doing workaway in Australia, we have all PR and full working rights.

Our kids are keen to improve their Mandarin, they are having very basic Mandarin lessons in school. We would all love to learn some words in any aboriginal language, that would be truly fantastic! We are happy to help with German, Portuguese and even English, we are all fluent.

Quais são suas habilidades?

We have a wide variety of skills, ranging from permaculture and bioconstruction over cooking and software development to professional event management.

As we lived on our own permaculture farm for 6 years and have built our own house, we have a lot of knowledge in the following areas:

CONSTRUCTION
- building with natural resources like clay and wood
- building with conventional material like concrete
- power and hand tools
- roofing
- foundations
- furniture building
- some experience with bamboo structures
- installing solar

NATURAL AND ORGANIC FARMING
- planting and harvesting of beans, corn, vegetables, etc.
- preparation of soil
- composting
- strong skills and experience agroforestry
- knowledge about non-commercial edible plants

Christian is a professional software developer and has strong skills in:
- programming
- office applications
- web design
- mobile apps

Lea is a professional event manager and strong skills in:
- organizing business events
- organizing sustainable ecological events

We are great cooks, you have to try our vegan curries, home-made breads, pizzas. We have developed our own pizza technique :)

There's a lot more we can share. Christian for example can probably fix your car, as he's done with our Volkswagen Bus and Land Rover Defender before.
