Hello! My name is Maayan and I am 36 years old. I used to be here on Workaway with my partner Carl, and now enjoying it by myself while he is busy with academy life.

I grew up in a socialistic community surounded by nature, studied art and design and was active in several NGO that work with creative use of waste, repair culture, zero waste, sharing of knowledge and resources.

I am searching for places and people that care about the nature and people around them, willing to teach, exchange and get to know eachother. And I would like to learn by doing: building with mud, permaculture, landscape design, foraging in your region, fermenting, woodworking. I really enjoy being helpful, so even cleaning and laundry are sometime very fulfilling for me. I like to feel like I am a part of your life, that brings out my creativity and motivation!

However, if alcohol and smoking are a big part of your social life, it might not work out with me, as it makes me feel like an outsider when it happens too often :(

After some years working in Berlin in the fields of creative activism, community building and sustainability, I am searching my next chapter in life - outside of the big city and probably with focus on plants, gardening and ecology.

I love and respect nature: animals, plants and humans; but I also appreciate a quite and cosy corner for myself and spending time on my own.

Ideally I am looking for places that I could come back to in years to come, becoming a part of your project's (or family) support network, and creating meaningful connections with people and places.

I typically don’t like having to wake up early in the morning, but later I work without counting the hours :) I am happy working on a team but also independently once I am introduced to the task. I especially like having many different types of tasks, and working on things according to my energy level and inspiration. But of course I understand that sometimes there are time limitations and urgent needs and that by itself is a great motivation!

My nutrition is almost completely vegan, but It's never a problem for me to find what to eat if there are some basic ingredients around. I try to eat "clean": natural, fresh and healthy, but you know, I am only human :) If you go harvesting, foraging or any form of food-saving, I want to come too! And then create special and creative meals.
