    Hello, shwmai!
We are both born and bred farmers from the not-so-sunny west of Wales. After driving through France, over the north of Spain and down through Portugal, we are currently making our way through Morocco in our farm pick-up.
We grew up not too far from each other, met at 17 and were best friends up until almost 4 years ago when we got together. Growing up with the sea to the west and mountains in every other direction, we always made use of them being right on our doorsteps. We are outdoor kids, through and through, and so not scared to get our hands dirty!
Ed is a full time farmer on the family sheep+cow farm and any other that needs an extra pair of hands! Abbi works in the small village shop, nattering away with all the locals. We are both very proud to be Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and fluent Welsh speakers, which comes in handy in both our lines of work! We would love to be able to teach any Welsh words to anyone who might be interested.
We live in a caravan on top of a windy hill with a beautiful view, it definitely gets very cold during winter...lucky we are in Morocco this year! We live with our 4 dogs; 2 working sheepdogs and 2 little jack russles but dont worry, theyre not travelling with us!. We enjoy all our animals and each have a unique relationship with all our dogs.
A few other key things to know about us both; Abbi loves to knit, she could sit in front of a fire, or in the baking sun all day knitting. Ed plays the bass and went to university studying a jazz course for bass guitar. We both love music, constantly on the lookout for new tunes to discover and add to our trip playlist. Abbi likes to cook, again always trying to find new ways of making new recipes. We've been making a lot of Welsh Cakes (one of Wales' signature dishes) on our trip, and look forward to making some for anyone who wants to try them!
We are a bubbly, easy-going, down to earth and a hard working couple. We dont tend to go out drinking and partying, although thats not to say we dont enjoy it when we do. We love to explore, meet people and try new things, Ed can even ride the unicycle if you have one lying around.

  • Quais são suas habilidades?

Growing up on a farm, we know how to do everything farm related. From stock work to machinery, building to problem solving we're always keen to get stuck in and get our heads around the next task.
Outside our caravan is our homemade decking and porch area, that we built just the two of us. It has lasted 3 winters so far, we expext it will still be standing when we get home. Living off grid, we have sorted and managed our own water supply, so we have a vague understanding of homemade plumbing.
Abbi likes to keep plants and has successfully grown some herbs and veg on our unforgiving hills. Eds dad is actually trying to grow his own vineyard so we are keen for any tips anyone has about growing grapes in Wales!
Abbi is also very creative, making her own jewellery and knitting her own clothes. Our caravan was given a new life after she was finished decorating. She has also organised and hosted her own pub quizzes, bingo nights Halloween and Christmas parties at the pub she used to manage. She also worked as a receptionist at a university, so has a good understanding of computers.
Eds favourite thing is training sheepdogs. It has been a passion for a long time, and is looking forward to going back to it when we get home.
We are bilingual, speaking Welsh as our first language, and equally as fluent in English. We enjoy picking up a key phrases from whatever country/ region we are in.

  • Algo mais...

We love to play cards, we have played almost every night since starting our trip...we can teach you the 2 games we know! We also have a chess and checkers board with us that we like to whack out on a lazy day. We love a good board game but we warn you, we both grew up with multiple siblings, so we can get quite competitive!
