Hello! My name is Zoe. I’m a traveller from New Zealand 6 months into my journey. I love building community and connection in different countries so have loved doing work exchanges in the past!

A bit more about me: I love being outdoors (rock climbing, hiking, surfing, long walks!), making art, dancing, card games, learning poi, meeting new people and going on adventures. Activism and community are also very important to me. When not travelling I work/study in the environmental physics space and have been doing climate change research.
Overall, I would describe myself as an open-minded, curious and adventurous person. I love a good chat but also know how to be respectful of people’s space and time.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have experience in:

- Gardening/land care/general maintenance: I am physically fit, have experience working in permaculture farms and am not afraid of getting a bit dirty. I also have some beginner experience with boat maintenance (sanding, painting).

- Help around the house: I am more than happy cleaning, cooking and running errands. Ive lived communally (often with 7+ people) for the last 4-5 years so I am used to cooking for many people and living harmoniously within a large group.

- Art projects: I am a creative person and have been drawing/painting for many years, with some informal design experience. I also have a dream to paint a mural one day if that’s something you’d be interested in!

- Childcare: I have worked as a school group organizer, tutor and babysitter. I love spending time with younger people and tapping into that inner child (responsibly of course heh).

- Customer service/hospitality: I have experience waitressing and event organizing, and am very comfortable being in a people-facing role.

- Technology: I am comfortable using computers and can code/program. Happy to crunch numbers if that’s needed!

Just a note on my experience with work exchanges: I have used platforms like Workaway a lot in the past but have been using HelpX which is more common in New Zealand, or found places through word of mouth.

I grew up in a Workaway household (my parents are hosts) so I know what is expected :)
