Hi there!

I am looking for a hands-on volunteer possibility during my time off (flexible timeframe max. 3 weeks at a time during 2022).

I dearly enjoy being outdoors (especially near the forest or sea), doing field observations and riding bikes. I’m an avid reader, love to travel (either alone or with others) and am interested in history and culture. In my free time, I also enjoy going for walks, visiting museums, and spending time with family and friends.
Originally from Berlin, I've had the chance to call both the American Northwest and Yorkshire my home for a year each and I’m now back in my hometown after 7 years of studying in several German cities and abroad.
When visiting new places and foreign countries, I gladly go off the beaten track. My favourite travel experience thus far has been a long-distance bike trip from Berlin to Copenhagen I did with my grandma back in 2013. :)

I am an active person and athlete and reflect my ambitiousness, active nature, and high motivation in other parts of life as well. I like to push myself to go beyond my limits because I like being challenged, solving problems and helping out wherever I can.

I consider myself to be a hands-on, caring, reliable, sociable, kind, polite, practical, and respectful person and I dearly value integrity, honesty and individuality.
I'm from a big family (6 younger siblings) so I'm used to (and do not mind!) helping with chores around the house and working with children of all ages and have an eye for work that needs to be done and a proactive attitude.
I am curious and always up for giving unfamiliar tasks a shot to gain experiences and improve myself on both an educational and personal level. I like to push myself to go beyond my limits because I like being challenged and solving problems by using my mind, two hands and common sense :)

- (German) Language ambassador for both teens and uni students
- Museum guide in the UK
- Companion to the elderly
- Working at hostels
- Farm work
- Reading mentor for kids at elementary school
- Mentoring program for foreign students
- Caretaker/guardian for children and adolescents with and without disabilities

I’m a quick learner, always up for new challenges and am physically and mentally fit to try and do unfamiliar tasks. I like working and being with company but also don’t mind being alone from time to time. I up for all sorts of work.

I'm interested in learning languages and always try to pick up basic conversation skills in the native language of the country I'm travelling to. To me, that's a sign of respect and I also think it's a fun learning experience and a good way to connect with people. I’ve taught both English and German in a school-setting (teens) as a volunteer and as part of student exchanges at uni in a sort of language-buddy-program before. I'm happy to teach German and learn the local languages if the opportunity presents itself.
