  • Descrição

    Hi, nice to meet you!

My name is Alice, I’m 21 years old and come from Lille, a city in the north of France. I'm taking a gap year (at least a year^^) to think about my future, learn new things (in many fields, but ESPECIALLY around wine making, herbalism and permaculture), leads some projects...

I just got a bachelor degree in Japanese language ( I went on an exchange year in Okinawa, Japan), and I also speak English and a bit of German. As you could guess, I love learning new languages, and I wish I can learn one day how to speak Italian (part of my family is from Italy).

Not only in languages, but I’m also very interested in nature, like gardening, beekeeping and harvesting (any kind of fruits, like grapes, olives, or whatever... I really like picking fruits out of the trees!!). I would like to do mainly farm works, and to learn about permaculture and regenerative agriculture, to maybe one day be auto sufficient!). I'm also into holistic nutrion (don't have many knowledge though) and spirituality. As I'm thinking about working either in the wine industry or in the production of medicinal plants (herbalism), I would love to meet people who already have some knowledge in those fields.

As I grew up with a wide age gap with my siblings, I always took care of them, so if you have children, I would let you know that it would be a pleasure for me to play with them, and help them with homework, or anything they need!
I was also a housekeeper for one year as a part time job, so I can do the general maintenance of the house with no doubts.

In my free time I usally knit (with a crochet), read, write (letters, poems or just journaling), and talk a lot with people while drinking coffee, to exchange about our ideas of life ... and also sometimes not that deep conversation ... : ) ! I also love going on hikes, go trekking, and running. I'm currently training for the Rome halth marathon in march, so we can jogg together if you're interested too!

I would describe myself as a hardworking and curious person, who's also willing to learn new skills.
People also tell me that I care a lot about my surrondings; I'm usually the one who's paying attention that nobody has any trouble, and that everyone in a group feel included. I'm also often the one who cooks for the oter: that's part of my love language to cook for the other volunteers/hosts, and a way to tell them I'm grateful for having meeting them!

Thank you for reading, ope we’ll have a pleasant journey together ☺️

    Alice

  • Quais são suas habilidades?

As I wrote earlier, I can do farm work (I already did the grape and olive harvest, so there no problem for me to have a pretty intense work!), and take care of animals! I don't ming getting my hands dirty! In my last workaway, I learn a lot about gardening, regenerative agricultre, making compost and also pruning.

As house work, I can of course clean, cook, make the laundry, darn clothes and take care of children! But I am willing to lean any knew skill; I learn quite fast!

Concerning my past part time job, I was a housekeeper for one year, also work a few months in restaurants, did some private lessons to help children at school, (I can help them to learn French, English, German, history, literature, but I’m not that talented in mathematics or chemistry…).

  • Algo mais...

Here is some other facts (and fun facts!) about me, so you can have a better overview of myself ✨:

-as a very French girl, I love wine, cheese and bread! But as I (almost) only know French wine, I want to discover new types of wines and origins!!

-I love mushrooms, and when I'm bored, I always draw either mushrooms or butterfly on my notebook!

-I love making my own products such as my own bread, beverage or hair products... but it's not always successful, so please teach me if you know !!

-I crochet a lot (especially mushrooms light holders, but I'm currently making a cardigan ), also sew, and recently started embroidery again. Actually searching for a grandma hobbies travel buddy :)

-One of my biggest project this year will be the translation of a Japanese art book in french. If you have any knowledge in translation/publication, I would love have some advices !

-For my sport side, I can say that I love running (currently training for a half marathon), but also hiking. I would love to try rock climbing, but I might have the fear of heights...
