Dear hosts and workawayers,

My name is Kristini and before I lived in Trier, a city which is located in the West of Germany and it is the oldest city as well here.
Right now I am traveling in Portugal to join different projects, collect beautiful memories, meet new people, learn and gain new experiences such as cultural and language experiences and getting to know my adventurous endless minds better and grow. :)

I am an open-minded, curious and spontaneous person and a sunny dreamer who has a passion for arts and music. :)
I love drawing, painting, design and creating new things.
Spending time with my family and my friends is essential for me and gives my heart happiness and joy. I love collecting beautiful memories with them.
Additionally, I like singing, photography, movies, cooking (vegan food as well), tasty food, gaming, being in nature, meditations plus doing relaxation meditation with my fellow human-beings, yoga, hiking, skateboarding and gardening. :)

Making people happy with my art, cooking and supporting gives myself a big smile. :)
I also love meeting new people from all over the world, because it is exciting and precious getting to know each unique individual and different culture. :)
You also get the opportunity of reflecting yourself from different perspectives and grow through experiences, inspirational personalities, different ideas and learning.
Furthermore, I enjoy exploring the world, new places and nature.
I like to care for my environment, because we only have one world in which we all live together.
The world is full of magic and wonders. :)

Details about my working experiences:

In the beginning of May 2022 I started working as a volunteer at the farm Agolada de Cima together with other persons in a dynamic and beautiful team. :) I feel like a nature ranger due to the tasks which consist of planting trees, tree grafting, creating hills of branches which are used as wood fire and to prevent fires in the forest in the future, watering the trees, etc. There are also tasks such as housekeeping, being active in creative projects and more. It is really fun and a beautiful plus unique experience. The nature is absolutely amazing. :)

Afterwards I had the amazing opportunity of being part in the team of "Be Baleal Surfhouse" in Baleal and I absolutely loved everything there - The nice team, the work, beautiful people, the landscape, the ocean, surfing, hiking, cultural exchange, yummy food and much more. I feel highly grateful and happy to have collected precious memories here.

My next beautiful experience as a volunteer in a project brought me to lovely Casa Branca, a beautiful, warm village which is located neat Montemor-o-Novo.
There I was involved in a sustainable renovation and architecture workshop by the Estação Cooperativa several weeks. I felt gratitude and happiness supporting this project, because with this project the cooperativa wants to support the village and the region around by creating a place with more cultural, sustainable opportunities and more. The renovated houses are being used for more workshops (for traditional, Portuguese building and architecture, earth construction building), cultural events, etc. in the future.

Before coming to Portugal, in the last years I worked in the pedagogical area and started working in the learning and playing facility center at the refugee camp in Trier in November 2018 after graduating as state-certified educator on the Vocational School for für Nutrition, Home economics and Social care in Trier in August 2018.
For me the offer of the working place at the learning and playing facility suited my perspective of giving help, support and caring for my fellow human beings with respect and empathy very well - Especially for those who really need help and fled from their homes and want to start a new life in a new country.

Afterwards I worked in the institution Waldorfkindergarten in Trier as State-certified educator and educational inclusion worker. Here I established a safe and caring environment for a 7-year old child with a specific illness by focussing on its needs and interests. I also took care of the other children in the group (25 children ages 3 to 7 years).
I implemented activities such as art projects, walks to nearby forest, baking bread together with the children. Preparing and implementing parental talks about child's development was also included in the daily life of the work as an educator.

After my contract has ended in the Waldorfkindergarten in Trier due to the child, I took care of, went to school, my journey led me to the next pedagogical institution Maison Relais in Grevenmacher located in Luxembourg.
But before that I was inspired by my interest of meditation and relaxation. Therefore I chose to had a professional training to become a relaxation educator and
trainer. Here I learned important aspects of how to relax, the different kinds of relaxation such as meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and more. It was very inspiring for me and as my final task I guided a natural meditation in a group which was a beautiful and warming experience for me and my other fellow human-beings who participated in this meditation.

The next step of beginning my work as an educator in the Maison Relais in Grevenmacher was very exciting for me, because I was happy for receiving the opportunity of new cultural exchanges and meeting new beautiful persons. My daily routine there included the implementation of activities, meal preparations, writing reports about pedagogical offers and spatial observation, designing a posters and stories with photopraphs and providing structural guidance when needed.

I also studied for a semester Intermedia Design in University in Trier where I had projects for example: Creating a concept for an application in Crossmedia, doing research on gadgets and milestones of design and media, creating technical drawings . :) Afterwards, I changed to an online-course of UX-Design where I want to focus on sustainability and the needs of my fellowhuman-beings

The reason for my motivation of becoming an educator is that my heart feels happy when I can help, support and care for my fellow human beings in their necessities, interests and their lives.
The reason for studying Design is because I'm passionate with love and happiness about art and creating. :)

I am open up for everything and I have so many interests with love. I love exploring different things in this world. :)
Values such as respect, empathy, tolerance and congruency are essential for me. Every living-being deserves to beloved and be free.
Our world belongs to every living-being, its whole endless environment and our future generations as well. We need to have respect and care for each other. In my perspective if you share happiness more happiness will grow afterwards.

Main personal interests

My main personal interests are my family and friends, arts (painting, drawing, experimental arts), creative creating, music, sports such as yoga and skateboarding, nature, sustainability (life style with a thoughtful and sustainable care on your personal ressources and enivronment), taking care of my environment, travelling and the social commitment in the voluntary organization “Kitchen For All“. This association provides events where you have the opportunity of participating a no-cost preparation and consuming of primarily regional, seasonal vegan food.

Experiences in visiting other countries

Until now, I have experiences in visiting other countries by travelling to different countries in Europe on my own and with my family and friends as well. I realize between those two different perspectives of travelling that a bonding with my family and friends is essential and important for myself, but by travelling on my own I have the precious opportunity of developing my perspectives of life and grow through learning and inspiration of other personalities' ideas and perspectives of life. I have also visited my family and friends in the Philippines. There I had the opportunity of experiencing an alternative perspective of living and how the daily life is in a developing country. Here I realized as well that I want to help and support people who live in poverty and have to struggle to live.
