Hola! Hi! 👋🏻
My name is Sonia, I am originally from a town near Barcelona but I have been living in Scotland for the last 28 years. I came for a summer to improve my English and ended up staying! 😅
At the moment I work as a Spanish teacher in a secondary school near Glasgow. I teach kids from 11 to 17 years old. I have 2 daughters, aged 21 and 16, who are bilingual. I heard from a work colleague about her experience in workaway and, since I have a few weeks off during the summer months, I have decided to have new experiences as my daughters are more grown up now.
I’m a very responsible, friendly, kind and outgoing person. I love travelling, having new experiences and having contact with nature. I love to keep fit so I go running a few times a week.
I also really enjoy practicing my languages and meeting people from around the world.

I studied Travel and Tourism before I got my Teaching degree, therefore I always enjoyed learning and practising different languages as well as different cultures.

Quais são suas habilidades?
As mentioned before, I have a teaching qualification and I teach Spanish in a secondary school.
Before I started teaching, I used to have my own restaurant where I enjoyed the day to day running of the business and meeting new and returning customers. I also have experience in working in different areas of a hotel, mainly reception and housekeeping.
I have a garden in my house in Scotland and enjoy cutting the grass, keeping it tidy and planting new plants and flowers.
