Hey 😊,
My name is Shak, I’m from the UK and I’m travelling for a year in Central and South America. I’m looking for authentic experiences getting to know a country, learning new things and meeting people from around the world.
I’m friendly and outgoing, love to cook, have lots of experience in a variety of teaching, hospitality and administrative jobs. I’d love to improve my DIY skills, experience bar work and enjoy taking on responsibility. I’m not fussy, and tend to be happy with most situations. Looking forward to working with you!

Quais são suas habilidades?
- I can speak intermediate Spanish (though keen to improve)
- I can do basic gardening and am quite happy to do any manual labour jobs (I enjoy staying fit so it works for me!)
- I love to cook, and can cook a variety of cuisines. Also very keen to learn new dishes and experiment.
- My last job was working for the Government in quite a mentally challenging international job, so I can be responsible, professional and pick things up relatively quickly.
- I’ve worked a number of customer facing jobs, jobs that require people skills and administrative experience (as a teacher, librarian, petrol station manager, university ambassador)
- I've done 10 weeks volunteering in a rural township in Zimbabwe, teaching business skills and sexual health. I really loved this experience and was very happy living rurally.
- I tend to get on with everyone and make friends quickly!
