Hii everybody, I'm Sarah & curently living in a small very rural town in southern germany. I love to live here because I have everything I could ask for. Nethertheless my heart draws me into the big wide world. There is so much more than just my home town and to experience it with my own eyes would be such a beautiful adventure. A few months ago I finished my high school diploma and now I would love to fulfill my dreams of travelling.
I would describe myself as a cheerful, positive-minded and helpful person. I love the sun, laughing, meeting new people and experiencing the bright side of life while creating memories that don't get lost. While enjoying biking, walking with my dog, baking, doing yoga and be passionate by playing the violine since kindergarden, I'm always happy to learn new skills and get to know new cultures.
I am so grateful that I was able to grow up in a very loving family and to have friends who support me in what I do. I believe it is a privileg to experience a childhood like I had and that's why I would love to help wherever I can to bring the sun in those lifes, who need it the most and learn from everyone I will meet during my journey.
I am so exited to step into my next big adventure :)

Quais são suas habilidades?
A big part of my family has it's roots in hungary, that's why I grew up learning to speak and understand hungarian as well. My mother language is german which I speak fluently. I would love to teach you the most important words and would be exited, if you teach me your native laguage as well :)
Currently I'm into learning Swahili.
During the past years I did some internships in hospitels, schools, at midwifes and the vet. During this time, I learned a lot new skills, like being patient with people as well as animals and how to handle difficult situations calmly.
Last year I participated at a program in my school in which we crossed the alps with our mountainbikes in summer. We camped and learned to work together as a team and to motivate each other so it got one of the hardest but best experiences of my life.
In my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends, walking in the nature or the streets of our small town, especially in the evening.
I enjoy talking to others and to get to know their stories as much as just relishing their company, especially when they have a similar energy as mine.
During orchestra classes I learned to work together with people my age as well as younger children, which brings me so much joy, because we built a community that supports each other.
As one of the older cousins in my family, I already spent a lot of time with the kids in my family, helped with their homework, played with them and even created new games. That's why I would say I'm quite a bit a creative person as well and like to make this part of me happy while drawing, playing my violin or to dance.
It makes me so cheerful when people are happy and walk through life seeing the positive side of it - because this is exactly what I want to be for others. I would like to be the person they can trust, ask for help, but laugh and have fun with as well. I'm an empathetic and helpful person that likes to work toghether with humans.

I would love to fulfill my dream of volunteering in a school in an african country. Aside from that it would be soo nice to experience the bright landscape and special places locals know the best - I am always happy for tips ;)

The welfare of animals and humans is very impostant to me & if I can make a contribution to this, I am very happy to do so.
When having people around that like board games, chill evenings, long talk sessions & just matchy vibes, travelling is so much better because experiencing memories together brings so much more joy. I am looking forward to everyone who accompanies me :)

Staying with Weza and his family was my very first Workaway experience, and it made me fall in love with the country. Thanks to this experience, I was able to stay for about three weeks and learn and see so much. Before starting my journey, I had many questions, all of which Weza answered very quickly and thoroughly. If you prefer having a phone… read more call with the host beforehand, don’t hesitate to ask him — one thing I truly learned about Weza is that he genuinely wants all volunteers to feel comfortable and safe.

From the very beginning, you are welcomed as part of the family. Not only Weza, but also Mama D., their children (Baby D. & Willi), the Dada, the other volunteers, and of course Niko (their dog 😊) will welcome you with open hearts and make your stay very special.

The vision Weza has for the school is truly impressive. It is not only a place where education is encouraged, but also a place filled with children’s laughter — and that is thanks to everyone involved in this place. The teachers do remarkably good work every day, and Madam Yasinta takes care of cooking for children and the volunteers, which makes the school feel even more like a community.

After spending time at school until the afternoon, you are free to join soccer practice or explore different activities. Some of my favorite experiences were trips with my fellow volunteers to a waterfall near Moshi, coffee plantations, and hot springs. Weza also helped us organize an unforgettable safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro. If you want to learn more about Arusha, where you’ll be living, Weza is the perfect guide. Whether it’s visiting museums, the Maasai market, taking a dance class, or exploring the oldest market in Arusha to buy spices — he knows all the best spots.

Your evenings will definitely not be boring. From playing Memory with the kids (make sure Baby D. learns how to lose sometimes), to card games with other volunteers, or going to a nearby lounge to play pool with Weza — there’s always something to do.

The volunteers quickly became family as well, and one of the most beautiful parts of my stay was spending time talking to them and to locals. These conversations were always interesting, and I learned so much about the culture while also making some wonderful friends along the way.

Mama D. deserves a special mention. Her cooking is absolutely amazing, and her presence is warm and caring. She always made sure I was okay and helped me with any questions. One of the most meaningful experiences for me was being included in family traditions, such as visiting a newborn together with the women of the family, or learning how to make chapati. I will miss Mama D. a lot!

Especially at the beginning, you may need some time to adjust to things that are different from home, such as Arabic-style toilets or short electricity blackouts during the day. However, these small challenges are nothing compared to the experience you gain.

Overall, the time I spent with Weza, Mama D., their family, the children, teachers, locals, and other volunteers was one of the best experiences of my life. Their family became my family, and I am sure I will return one day to visit everyone I met during my stay.
In conclusion I recommend this place a lot. You will have a wonderful time with this lovely family and create unforgettable memories.
