We are a Kurdish couple originally from Iran, and we’ve been living in Finland for over 15 years. We’re passionate about travel, culture, and meaningful human connection. So far, we’ve had the chance to visit more than 45 countries across Asia and Europe — some of them even multiple times — and we are still excited to continue this adventurous journey around the world.

We truly enjoy learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and experiencing everyday life in new environments. Some of our favorite activities include hiking, swimming, mountain climbing, sports, and cooking. We also love to share our own culture while learning from others.

We have solid hands-on experience in many areas such as cleaning and organizing spaces, cooking a variety of international and traditional dishes, hosting and hospitality, home decoration, small household repairs, working with children, and assisting with both indoor and outdoor tasks.

Sam studied Business Management in Iran and worked in the banking sector for several years. After moving to Finland, he pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has over 8 years of experience in the machine manufacturing industry. He is organized, detail-oriented, punctual, kind, and quick-thinking in the workplace.

Sonia was a primary school teacher in Iran for several years. In Finland, she studied Hotel and Restaurant Management and has more than 8 years of experience in that field. She is passionate, patient, motivated, and works very well in team environments. She also has strong skills in cooking, home arrangement, and decoration.

We speak Kurdish, Persian (Farsi), and Finnish fluently, and we also have a good understanding of Arabic, Turkish, and English. One of our main goals through Workaway is to improve our English skills through real-life communication and meaningful interaction.

We are friendly, responsible, and always ready to help. It would be our pleasure to be part of your project, to contribute in a positive and respectful way, and to create meaningful memories together.
