Hey! I’m Roos, a 24-year-old from the Netherlands. I recently graduated in Social Work, and I’m passionate about connecting with people and learning from different communities. What truly makes me happy is genuine connection, both with people and between people. I love having meaningful conversations, learning about others’ stories and feeling part of something bigger than myself. I believe that kindness, openness, and curiosity can create beautiful connections anywhere in the world.
Besides that I love being outdoors, whether it’s hiking for example or just enjoying the quiet of nature. Movement and being outside always give me energy. I love trying new sports, such like surfing.

This will be my first Workaway experience and I’m really looking forward to meeting inspiring people, learning new skills and connect with eachother.

Quais são suas habilidades?

During my Social Work studies, I’ve had the opportunity to work with both young people and the elderly. I gained experience supporting teenagers with mild intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges and attachment issues. I also completed a minor in Sport Therapy for Empowerment, during which I spent time in South Africa teaching sports lessons to children with disabilities. Alongside my studies, I worked part-time at a gym as a fitness instructor, where I enjoyed helping people feel stronger and more confident in their own bodies.
My friend Iris is a qualified primary school teacher, with experience in both lower and upper grades. Alongside her study, she worked parttime in hospitality and also teaches gymnastics to children. She brings a lot of energy, warmth, and creativity to everything she does.
