Hey there!

I’m Rebecca and always looking to learn something new and get to know other people and their life. I already got workaway experience in farming (one riding/ holiday residence, one sheep farm) as well as teaching English and German. I'm enjoying both very much but would also love to work more in hospitality or elaborate my skills in different craftsmanships.

A bit about my person: I’m from Germany but since I finished highschool I lived abroad in different countries namely France, the Netherlands, Ireland and Portugal. I studied marketing and communication and already worked in the field of digital marketing while I was living in Lisbon. However, over the past months I increasingly felt like I need to get out of the city, away from the screen and pursue something that I am really passionate about.

Quais são suas habilidades?

TEACHING / CHILD CARE
After I finished highschool I spent a year in Paris volunteering in a kindergarten and being a part time aupair. Hence, I’m used to being around kids and acquired some valuable pedagogical traits during that time that I would be happy to implement especially in relation to animals / being in nature.
I could elaborate on this while my workaways in South America where I helped kids and adults to learn English or German.

ANIMAL CARE
I’m familiar with being around horses and know how to take care of them. I took riding classes for years myself and just finished a workaway in the southwest coast of Portugal on a holiday/ riding farm.
During another workaway I helped out on a sheep farm during lambing season.

AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS
I have some basic knowledge about growing vegetables and fruits. Already as a child my parents allocated a little section in our garden to me that I could take care of by myself and configure it to my own wishes. It’s especially my father who has huge interest in plants and animals that he has also passed on to me. The last 3 years he taught himself how to be a beekeeper and is now collecting kilos of honey every summer. That way I also had the pleasure of learning some things about beekeeping since he’s always sharing his knowledge with me.

HOSPITALITY
I worked for several months as a hostess on various events and learned to recognize and fulfill guests' needs. I was able to deepen those skills while workaways that included lodging or other services for guests. I also speak 3 languages, which can also be very useful in this field.
Furthermore, I worked in customer service for a marketing project.

And that’s also how I would describe myself: I’m very curious and open to learning and acquiring any new skills in a quite independent way. So in general I'm very open to any projects as long as you are willing to teach me :)
