Hello from our little wandering family! 🌱🌍

We’re Lenka (36), Pavel (40), and our cheerful son Jonáš (almost 4) — a Czech family who loves nature, animals, and meeting people from all walks of life. We believe in living simply, being kind to the earth, and learning something new along the way.

Our travel story
In 2014–15, before family life began, we spent almost a year in New Zealand. We worked through the winter pruning vines in a vineyard, then travelled for eight months around both islands. On the way home, we visited Australia, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands — all low-budget but full of rich experiences.
A few years later, in 2018–19, we set off again — 16 months in South America, filled with hitchhiking, camping, couchsurfing, a few Workaway projects, and plenty of “figure it out as we go” moments. Sometimes tough, always worth it.

Now life looks a little different
Jonáš is our curious little adventurer who would happily live outdoors full-time if he could. He’s always eager to join in, whether it’s planting seeds, collecting eggs, or chatting with whoever’s nearby.
We still live in Prague but have bought land in the countryside and dream of moving there in the next few years. Lenka is at home with Jonáš, experimenting in the kitchen with healthy recipes, fermentation, and wheat-free baking and raw desserts. Pavel works in IT (web development) but enjoys any hands-on work away from the keyboard. We grow some of our own vegetables, compost, and are learning about permaculture and regenerative farming.

What we can offer

Our style
We’re happy to work hard when needed, but we also value balance — time for learning, sharing stories, and enjoying the place we’re in. We travel to experience life, not just tick jobs off a list.

What we’d love to learn
Organic gardening, permaculture, eco-building, woodworking, animal care, and new cooking techniques.

We see every Workaway stay as a chance to exchange knowledge, share good energy, and create memories together — whether it’s over a shared meal, a day in the garden, or an evening of stories.

Quais são suas habilidades?

We are able to put our hands to work and not to complain (4 month working on the vineyard and pruning one plant after another all the day was a great experience in that). We can offer our help in other areas too:
- We can help with computers - basics, web pages, social networking and much more
- We can teach basics or more experienced tricks on photography
- English practise (or Czech if you'd like to :-) )
- Gardening
