Kia Ora / Hi, i'm Olive. I'm from New Zealand, but at the moment I'm living my dream to travel around the world! I have recently been working and exploring in Canada, before meeting up with my family to travel around Europe for a couple of months. This makes me feel very blessed, as it has been something I have wanted to do since I was little.

I love connecting and conversing with like minded people, learning new things from them and being inspired by their stories. I grew up on a small farm which I think has created my love of working with animals, particularly dogs and horses, and one day I would like to study in zoology. I'm a nature lover, and enjoy going on walks and hikes. Other interests of mine are reading, ( I love a good book), sewing and knitting, journalling and baking. I am passionate about learning new skills and I am willing to try almost anything!

Ideally I would find a Workaway, where I can be around good people, be close to, if not in nature and I would love to work with animals! .Thank you in advance, I can't wait to meet you. :)

Quais são suas habilidades?

Animal Care: I grew up on a small farm so I have been around lots of animals all my life. This includes cats, dogs, fish, ducks, sheep, cows and I have been riding horses casually, since I have been young. I have had a chicken business raising and selling free range chickens, and their eggs.
Child Care: In Canada I worked as an Outdoor Programs Facilitator and Camp Councillor, so I have experience working with children of various ages. This also allowed me to obtain a Canadian Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certificate.
Outdoor Work: A long with my work as an outdoors program facilitator, in which I was leading children on three day hikes, I also grew up with a large garden. My mother is a Edible Garden/Landscape Designer, and so at home we had a large garden, which when I was young I explored and learned in. More recently I was doing paid work for her. So I don't mind getting my hands dirty and I love nature.
Teamwork and Leadership: I was Head Girl at my high school which has given me leadership skills, planning activities, communicating with both staff and students, allowing me do gain valuable communication skills and I have worked closely with a team to find common goals, and achieve them.
I have worked in customer service roles- supermarket checkout-which has given me experience and confidence connecting with all different sorts of people.
Cooking and Flexibility: I have been cooking food from a young age. It started with me at 10 years old, cooking my parents bacon and eggs for Sunday breakfast, and then moved on to me cooking dinner once or twice a week. I also love baking and a soft spot for sweet treats, which I think came from my grandma, who is a Chef turned Chocolatier. Growing up we had many friends with different diretry requirements and so I have become quite flexible and able to adapt recipes.
I love to learn new things, I am reliable and am happy to help. I look forward using my skills to contribute and to help you!
